Tea processing machines by process stage, from withering to packing

Tea machines on this site are sold three ways: as single machines, as modules that bundle a machine with feed conveyors and controls, and as engineered lines. Most come from Zhejiang Sunyoung Machinery, with Hongming covering black-tea withering and fermentation, Hengfeng and Yinqiu building flat-tea pans, Yuanfeng offering a white-tea line and Haowei packing the finished tea. The clearest way to read the range is by process stage: withering, fixation, rolling, fermentation, shaping, drying and aroma, then sorting, conveying, heat supply and packing. Start from the tea you make and the stage you want to add or replace.

Fresh leaf first meets spreading and withering equipment. Hongming's fresh-leaf tray loader spreads one 1.2 × 0.8 m tray every 15 seconds, and Sunyoung's multi-layer 6CWD-20, -50 and -100 modules hold 200, 500 and 1000 kg per batch. For larger black-tea factories, the HONGMING 6CWF/6CDF withering line takes 500 or 1000 kg of fresh leaf per batch at two batches a day. Fixation then stops enzyme activity. The Sunyoung 6CST-40 drum is the small entry point at a reference output of at least 25 kg/h; the 6CSF hot-air module scales up to 400 kg/h of fresh leaf on the 6CSF-100; the 6CSFT infrared drum fixes green tea at 50 or 120 kg/h; and the 6CZS-65 steam module fixes with steam and then dries with hot air at 100 kg/h.

Rolling twists the fixed or withered leaf into strips. The Sunyoung 6CR rollers run from the copper 6CR-30 at 4 kg per batch to the stainless 6CR-75 at 100 kg per batch, while the 6CRZ-55 automatic rolling module groups several rollers with weighing, programmed pressure and conveyors at 30 kg per barrel. Clump breakers follow the roller at 300 or 400 kg/h, and the 6CHT dewatering dryer breaks up lumps while it removes moisture. Black tea then ferments: the Sunyoung 6CHFJ cabinets offer 4.8 or 9.6 m² of spreading area, Sunyoung's continuous module runs belts through an enclosed room, and HONGMING's fresh-air fermentation room takes about 300 kg of rolled leaf on 30 frames.

Shaping sets the look of the finished leaf, so the machine follows the tea style. For Longjing and other flat teas, the Hengfeng 6CCB-842ZD links two 840 mm pans, while the Yinqiu 6CCB-781ZD carries fresh leaf from fixation to polishing in one 780 × 470 mm pan at 0.35 kg/h. Straight green-tea strips come from the 6CLZ trough shapers at 8 or 12 kg/h or the 6CLXL240 continuous shaper, tight fried strips from the 6CCP bottle-shaped drums, curled and ball-shaped tea from the double-pot shapers, and Biluochun-type tea from the 6CHP-941 round-bowl roasters with 6 kW per bowl. The Yuanfeng Anji white tea line combines shaping, air sorting, reconditioning and drying under touch-screen control, and the 6CHC resting module lets moisture even out for 40–120 minutes between frying stages.

Drying and finishing come next. The 6CHB continuous plate dryers run from 12 to 35 kg/h on coal, electricity or gas, the 6CTH-6.0 aroma cabinet has 12 tray layers and 15 kW of heating, and a drum aroma machine with far-infrared panels finishes tea without stopping. The EF-40 air sorters split light and heavy fractions at 250–400 kg/h, and cooling and wind-selection modules, conveyors and elevators link the stages. Heat comes from Sunyoung's gas, DRL electric and solid-fuel furnaces, chosen to match the receiving machine. At the end of the line, the Haowei DZH-100A forms, fills and glues small cartons at 55–85 boxes/min.

To specify, describe your fresh leaf (variety, grade and daily arrivals), the finished tea and the stages the quote should cover. Ask for every capacity on one basis, fresh leaf or dry tea and per hour rather than per batch, and for a utility schedule listing heating power, motor power and fuel for the heat source you choose, plus any furnace room. Then agree a trial on your own leaf and the result you will accept.

Capacity basisRate per hour or per batch, counted on fresh leaf, rolled leaf or dry tea, with the cycle time.
Heat source and utilitiesChosen fuel or electric heating, heating and motor power, fuel use, supply voltage and any furnace room.
Scope of supplySingle machine, module or line, with every conveyor, furnace and control cabinet listed.
Trial and acceptanceA run on your own leaf and the finished-tea result agreed for handover.

Read competing quotations on the same basis

Put quotations side by side only when they cover the same stage on the same capacity basis. Convert batch figures, such as kg per batch or per barrel, into kg/h from the cycle time each supplier states, and note whether each rate counts fresh leaf, rolled leaf or dry tea. Compare the full utility load for your chosen heat source, including heating power, motor power, fuel use and any separate furnace room, and check that feed and discharge points match the machines on either side. For a module or line, ask for a numbered list of every machine, conveyor and control cabinet in the price, and give the trial result on your own leaf more weight than the catalogue rate.
