Sunyoung 6CJW-40 / 6CJW-50 Tea Clump Breakers

Sunyoung's 6CJW-40 and 6CJW-50 sit between the tea roller and the shaping or drying stage. They break up the lumps that form during rolling and split the loosened leaf by size. The 40 has a 0.37 kW motor, a ≥300 kg/h catalogue rate and measures 600 × 380 × 790 mm; the 50 has 0.75 kW, ≥400 kg/h and 830 × 830 × 1580 mm. The brochure supplies the kW and mm units the web image leaves out. Before ordering, agree the feed method from your roller, the separation outlets and how the loosened tea will be judged.

Build my procurement brief

What the breaker does, and what it leaves to other machines

Sunyoung explains that the machine pulls apart clumps left by rolling and divides large and small pieces for the next process. Foreign-object removal and contaminant detection are outside that description, and a size-split stream still goes on to shaping and drying before it is a finished grade.

Decide where each output stream goes and which shaping or drying machine takes it. Within Sunyoung's own range, that means the 6CLZ green tea strip shapers or the 6CHB continuous tea dryers. Ask Sunyoung for the outlet and separation layout on the quoted build. If you need a set grading cut or a cleaning step, specify that as a separate machine with its own data.

6CJW-40 against 6CJW-50

The 50 is twice as tall as the 40, yet its listed rate rises from 300 to 400 kg/h. Size and rate scale differently, so size the room and the throughput separately.

Model figuresHow to use them
6CJW-40: 600 ×380 ×790 mm; 0.37 kWCheck that roller unloading and the next machine line up at this height, and get the installation drawing.
6CJW-50: 830 ×830 ×1580 mm; 0.75 kWLay out the bigger build from its own hopper, outlet and service access drawings.
Bare plan area, calculated0.600 ×0.380 = 0.228 m² for 40; 0.830 ×0.830 = 0.6889 m² for 50. Add access, guarding and conveyors on top.

Feeding a batch roller into a continuous breaker

Rollers are rated per batch and this breaker per hour. Sunyoung's 6CJW pages leave out how much can be tipped in at once and what feeder comes with the machine, so plan the hand-off explicitly. Matching a batch machine to an hourly one is part of line sizing in our guide to tea processing machinery by stage.

  1. Describe the roller output

Send sample rolled clumps with leaf condition, batch weight and how often the roller empties.

  2. Get the feed design

Ask for the hopper load allowed, any conveyor or metering link, and how surges are handled.

  3. Route both outputs

Show where the large and small fractions go and how the next machines take them without a backlog.

  4. Test the whole hand-off

Record the incoming material, how it was fed and the output condition at the agreed rate, using a real roller batch.

Checking the loosened tea, not only the rate

Sunyoung calls the process efficient and publishes no figures for leftover clump size, fines or grade split. Run the demonstration on your own rolled leaf, and agree in advance how material going in and coming out will be compared.

Ask how the machine settings and separation layout on your build affect the result. Rotor speed, blade pattern, screen options and clearances are absent from these sources, so request them with the quote. Accept a throughput only together with the material result it produced.

Buyer questions

Is ≥300/400 kg/h measured as dried tea?

The machine takes clumped tea straight from rolling. Ask Sunyoung which leaf and test produced the rates. [1] [2] [3]

Are 0.37 and 0.75 in kW?

Yes. The brochure table for the same models labels motor power in kW. Energy per kilogram needs a measured run. [2] [3]

How much can I tip into the hopper at once?

Neither source gives an instant load or feeding method. Ask Sunyoung for the feed arrangement it supports. [2] [3]
