Mushroom equipment: substrate preparation and growing-room climate control
Mushroom equipment in this section covers two stages of production. Upstream, substrate is mixed and then fed into bags or sticks for sterilisation. Downstream, growing rooms need cooling, heating, airflow and humidity held to the crop's schedule. A buyer usually plans these as separate purchases, each sized from its own data: batch and line flow for substrate machines, room load and site utilities for climate units.
On the substrate side, Longquan Guyou Automation Equipment builds mixers, screw feeders, bagging and sealing units and sterilisation cabinets. Its listed Guyou 6 m³ mixer is sold under a 6.0 cubic-metre designation for edible-mushroom substrate. Use that figure to shortlist it, then ask Guyou for the technical sheet: whether 6.0 m³ is chamber or working volume, the mixing mechanism, motor power, batch mass for your recipe, cycle time and an installation drawing. Because Guyou also makes the feeding and bagging stages, agree in the same enquiry how each mixed batch reaches the bagger and then sterilisation.
For growing rooms, Ferdlis New Energy Technology offers two series. The FAEH environmental-control units span 5–50 RT of cooling and heating with airflow from 3000 to 25000 m³/h, on a 220 V or 380 V supply, in air-cooled or water-cooled forms, with R22 or R410a refrigerant. These are series ranges, so a small room and a large room will receive quite different units. Send room dimensions, number of rooms, the crop schedule and your power supply, and ask for one selected model with its duty sheet.
For button-mushroom (Agaricus) growers, the FAZK series is built to order. Ferdlis lists at least 50 kW of cooling, airflow from 5000 to 30000 m³/h, horizontal or vertical layouts and a 380 V three-phase 50 Hz supply. Its coil runs on water or an aqueous glycol solution from a cooling source on site, so the chiller or cooling plant, the coil and fan duty and the room controls are designed together. Include the cooling source and its supply temperature in the enquiry.
Whichever stage you are buying for, ask each maker to list exactly what the price covers: for a mixer, the motor, controls and discharge arrangement; for a climate unit, the air handling, cooling, heating, humidity and control items, and which of them rely on equipment already on site.

Compare quotations on a selected model, never on a series range. For substrate mixers, put offers side by side on working volume, batch mass for your recipe, cycle time, motor power and discharge height to the next machine. For climate units, compare one selected unit per room on cooling and heating capacity, airflow, refrigerant or coolant circuit, electrical supply and the list of air, humidity and control items included, with the duty sheet attached to each offer.
Questions for your supplier
- Is the 6.0 m³ figure chamber or working volume, and what batch mass and cycle time apply to our recipe?
- Which mixing mechanism and motor power does the quoted mixer use?
- Which FAEH or FAZK model do you select for our rooms, and what is its duty sheet?
- Which air, cooling, heating, humidity and control items are included, and which rely on site equipment?
Send these questions with your enquiry and ask for the model-specific documents in the quotation.
