Ferdlis FAEH Mushroom Environmental-Control Units

FAEH is Ferdlis's mushroom environmental-control series. The Chinese catalogue lists 5–50 RT of cooling and heating, airflow from 3000 to 25000 m³/h, 220 V or 380 V supply, air-cooled or water-cooled forms, and R22 or R410a refrigerant. These are series ranges: a 5 RT unit and a 50 RT unit will have different airflow and electrical builds. Send your room size, crop schedule and site utilities, and ask Ferdlis for one selected model with its duty sheet and a clear list of the air, cooling, humidity and control items it supplies.

Build my procurement brief

Order from one duty sheet

The FAEH entry shows the lowest and highest output and airflow in the series. It does not say which airflow goes with a 5 RT unit, which supply suits a 50 RT unit, or how output shifts with entering-air and heat-rejection conditions. Taking the top figure from every row would describe a machine Ferdlis has never offered.

Send Ferdlis your room and utility schedule and ask for one selected model. Its duty sheet should pair cooling and heating output with operating temperatures, airflow, fan pressure, electrical needs and the heat-rejection route. Ask what RT means on that sheet before you set it against an offer in kW. Input power, cooling output and heating output are three separate numbers.

Published specifications

Read each value with its stated conditions, and ask the manufacturer for any limit not listed here.

SpecificationPublished valueMeaning / limit
Agricultural seriesFAEH [1]Ferdlis's mushroom environmental-control series. FAZK, the water and glycol unit for Agaricus, is a separate listing.
Cooling range5–50 RT [1]Printed in RT across the series. Ask which RT convention and rating temperatures apply, and for the kW figure of the selected unit.
Heating range5–50 RT [1]The same RT span as cooling. Ask how heat is produced, the input power and the output of your selected unit.
Airflow range3000–25000 m³/h [1]Series span. The selected fan point, external static pressure and fresh-air share come with the duty sheet.
Electrical options220 V / 380 V [1]Two supply options. Phase, frequency, current and protection appear on the nameplate of the build you order.
Refrigerant optionsR22 / R410a [1]Listed in an undated catalogue. Confirm which refrigerant the offered unit uses and whether it is accepted at your destination.
Condenser coolingAir-cooled / water-cooled [1]Choose with your site utilities, then confirm which heat-rejection parts Ferdlis supplies.

What 3000–25000 m³/h means for your room

Airflow only tells you something once the air path and fan point are known. Mushroom rooms run on a ventilation schedule set by the grower, so pin these four items down.

Figure you might work outWhat to ask Ferdlis for
Airflow divided by room volumeFor a 1000 m³ room the printed span works out at 3–25 h⁻¹. That is simple arithmetic; the rate you need comes from your process and the selected fan.
Fresh-air volumeThe listing gives total airflow. Ask for the split between fresh and recirculated air in the air-handling schedule.
Flow delivered through ductsFan curve at the selected pressure, duct and rack resistance, filter condition and balancing records.
Air across the bedsA layout plus readings at agreed points in the loaded room, so you can see how evenly each bed is served.

Air-cooled or water-cooled

The two forms need different site information. For an air-cooled unit, agree the condenser arrangement, the outdoor design conditions and where the heat goes. For a water-cooled unit, give the water temperatures, required flow and pressure drop, and agree who supplies the cooling tower or other heat rejection and the pumps.

Ask for a circuit drawing that marks what Ferdlis delivers and what your installer provides, including service isolation, water treatment where relevant, drainage and cleaning access. A water-cooled FAEH is still an FAEH; the FAZK chilled-water and glycol unit is a different catalogue entry.

Put humidity and CO₂ control on the equipment list

The FAEH entry describes the unit as environmental control. It publishes no humidity accuracy, CO₂ range, fresh-air damper control, humidifier capacity or logging interface. If your rooms need these, list the sensors, valves and dampers, humidity equipment and control sequences in the selected offer.

Decide who writes the crop-stage recipe and where the sensors sit. Ask for a sequence that covers cooling with moisture removal, any reheat or humidification, and ventilation for the process. The temperature, humidity and CO₂ setpoints come from your own growing method and the agreed design. Our mushroom production equipment guide sets grow-room climate control alongside substrate and sterilisation, which helps when you plan the whole facility.

Buyer questions

Is 5–50 RT the capacity of my FAEH unit?

It is the span of the series. Ask Ferdlis for a duty sheet for the offered model and for the RT convention it uses. [1]

Is 25000 m³/h all fresh air?

The catalogue gives total airflow only, with no fresh-air split or fan pressure. Ask for the air-handling schedule of the selected unit. [1]

Does FAEH include a humidifier and CO₂ sensor?

They are not listed in the FAEH entry. Name the control functions and hardware you need in the supply list and get them priced. [1]

Can I switch between R22 and R410a after purchase?

Each refrigerant needs its own circuit. Choose one with Ferdlis before production and get the documents for that circuit. [1]

Refrigerant, supply and controls on the build sheet

The catalogue lists options without a build sheet. Fix each one for the unit you receive.

Catalogue optionWhat the build sheet should state
R22 / R410aThe one refrigerant and circuit fitted, the charge, servicing instructions, destination documents and who can service it locally. Each refrigerant needs its own circuit.
220 V / 380 VNameplate voltage, phase and frequency, running and starting current, protective devices and wiring diagram. Ask whether single-phase supply or voltage switching is possible.
Cooling and heatingThe heating source and its controls, with input requirements.
Local and remote controlsController and firmware, access, configuration backup, operator language and any integration. Ask directly whether remote or cloud control is offered on FAEH.

Accept the unit in the loaded room

Agree the measurements and limits before the unit is built. A factory run tests the machine; a room trial tests the growing conditions.

  1. Write down the design basis

Selected build, outdoor and utility conditions, room and process loads, and the supply scope, so the test can be read against the design.

  2. Check the air side

Measure fan duty and balance, the supply and return layout and readings at agreed room points under the agreed condition. Note filter and duct condition.

  3. Check controls through stage changes

Where included, run temperature, humidity and ventilation sequences, alarms and stage changes with logged, time-stamped sensor readings. Ask for the log behind any screen display.

  4. Hand over documents

Circuit and wiring diagrams, cleaning and condensate instructions, spare-part references, a setpoint and configuration backup, and a named contact for commissioning fixes.

Service and recovery planned around the growing cycle

Ferdlis's service page describes training for users and installers and follow-up support. Warranty terms and an overseas response time for FAEH are set in your contract. Agree who handles refrigerant work, water-side maintenance if fitted, controls, and duct balancing at your site.

Tell Ferdlis how your rooms cycle and how long they can tolerate an interruption. Ask for an agreed response to loss of cooling or heating, stopped airflow, failed sensors and power return, plus the safe restart behaviour and spare-part stock. Protecting a crop through a fault depends on the recovery plan written into the project.
