Tea processing
Sunyoung 6CZS-65 Steam and Hot-Air Tea Fixation Module
Sunyoung's steam fixation module kills enzymes in fresh tea leaf with high-temperature steam, then dries the wet leaf with hot air, in one continuous run. An integrated furnace raises heat and steam, and integrated controls manage the stages. The brochure reference, 6CZS-65, burns coal or gas, has 2.75 kW base power and a rate of ≥100 kg/h. Its 7700 × 940 × 1600 mm dimensions leave out the chimney and furnace, so plan extra room for both. Sunyoung quotes steam at 120–180°C and hot air at 130–160°C, each "and above", and about 60% leaf moisture after the process.

Build my procurement briefSteam stage, then hot-air drying
Fixation and dehydration happen continuously in one module, according to Sunyoung. The steam comes from the module's own furnace, so an outside boiler is not part of the design. Map the two stages separately when you specify the line. Steam fixation is weighed against pan, drum and hot-air methods in our tea machinery by stage guide.
Heat and steam
Get the quoted furnace and steam arrangement, the fuel you choose and its controls.
Steam treatment
Ask for the leaf feed, the steaming path and the leaf and charging conditions Sunyoung designs for. Steaming time and belt speed are not published.
Hot-air drying
Get the air and leaf path, how far it can be adjusted, and the moisture the leaf should reach for your rolling step.
In and out
Name the conveyors, receiving machine and control link on either side of the module.
Documents
Ask for commissioning, operating and service instructions for the build delivered.
What the steam and air temperatures tell you
Sunyoung reheats the steam and supplies hot air, quoting 120–180°C for steam and 130–160°C for air, each followed by "and above". Those numbers describe the heating media. They give no top limit, no measuring point and no time in the steam.
Before ordering, ask Sunyoung to confirm in writing the operating limits, where temperature is measured, and the settings it recommends for your leaf. Then set leaf time and temperature in a trial with your own material.
Moisture, leaf shape, colour and taste
After steaming and drying, the brochure says, leaf comes out at about 60% moisture, stays whole, keeps its colour, and summer and autumn tea tastes less bitter and astringent. The web page also mentions colour, chlorophyll and bitterness. Sunyoung gives no measuring method or sample data for these points.
Write down the leaf condition you need leaving the module, and how you will judge it, before any demonstration. Run representative leaf, note the settings, and check moisture, wholeness and taste against your own targets. Ask whether the 60% is on a wet or dry basis and whether it suits your rolling or shaping machine.
Room for the furnace, chimney and utilities
The 6CZS-65 row gives 7700 × 940 × 1600 mm for the treatment body and states that chimney and furnace are excluded. Their sizes and the installation clearances are not printed, so ask for each item below.
| Item | What to get in the quote |
|---|---|
| Treatment body | Model and configuration with the listed dimensions, plus the access and service layout. |
| Furnace and chimney | What is supplied, where it stands, the flue route and Sunyoung's installation requirements. |
| Fuel | Coal or gas build, supply and control needs, and what fuel equipment is included. Fuel use for this row is not published. |
| Air, steam and water | Connection drawings and instructions: steam pressure and flow, water quality and condensate handling. |
| Electrics and controls | Full connected-load schedule, control package and commissioning papers. The 2.75 kW base power covers electrics only. |
Published specifications
Read each value with its stated conditions, and ask the manufacturer for any limit not listed here.
| Specification | Published value | Meaning / limit |
|---|---|---|
| Brochure model | 6CZS-65 [1] [2] | The web entry has no model table. Ask which current build the quote is for. |
| Equipment in the module | Heat/steam furnace, steam fixation machine, hot-air dehydrator and integrated controls [1] | Sunyoung's list. Feed and receiving conveyors and site utilities are quoted separately if needed. |
| Fuel | Coal, gas [2] | Two fuel choices in the brochure. Consumption and supply details come with the chosen build. |
| Base power / hourly rate | 2.75 kW / ≥100 kg/h [2] | Electrical base load and the catalogue rate. Heat demand is supplied by the furnace and is extra. |
| Dimensions | 7700 × 940 × 1600 mm, excluding chimney and furnace [2] | The treatment body only. Add the furnace, chimney and access when laying out the room. |
| Steam temperature | 120–180°C, described as "and above" [1] [2] | Temperature of the steam medium. Leaf temperature is a different figure. |
| Hot-air temperature | 130–160°C, described as "and above" [1] [2] | Temperature of the drying air. Sensor positions and limits are not given. |
| Leaf moisture after the process | About 60% [2] | Brochure figure after steaming and drying. Wet or dry basis and test conditions are not stated. |
Running a trial at your feed rate
Sunyoung does not say what leaf or moisture the ≥100 kg/h figure was measured with. A trial ties your feed rate to the leaf you get out. If you are choosing between steam and hot air alone, Sunyoung's 6CSF hot-air tea fixation module is the counterpart to trial.
Leaf cases
Name the tea or other leaf and its condition on arrival. Sunyoung says the module suits a wider range of leaf products; test the ones you process.
Configuration
Note the fuel, heat, steam and air equipment, controls and settings used.
Feed rate
Weigh leaf in over a timed run on the real leaf path.
Leaf out
Check moisture, shape and quality as agreed, and the condition handed to the next machine.
Stops and changeovers

Buyer questions
Are 120–180°C and 130–160°C leaf temperatures?
No. They describe the steam and the hot air. Leaf temperature and time come from your trial and Sunyoung's recommended settings. [1] [2]
Do the dimensions include the furnace?
No. The brochure leaves out the furnace and chimney. Ask for their layout and installation requirements. [2]
Will leaf always leave at about 60% moisture?
That is the brochure figure, with no test conditions. Ask Sunyoung to confirm in writing the moisture basis and the setting that gives the condition your next machine needs. [2]
Leaf-contact materials, cleaning and spare parts
The official photograph shows the heating pipework and leaf-treatment equipment together. Nameplate details and the full scope of supply come from the quote.
Ask for the leaf-contact materials, the cleaning access Sunyoung approves, and spare belts, drives and heat-system parts for your build. Material grades, certifications, wear life and maintenance intervals are not in the brochure, so request them with the build documents. The maker's 6CSFT infrared tea fixation module offers a third heat method to compare.
