Sunyoung 6CSFT Infrared Tea Fixation Module

The Sunyoung 6CSFT fixes green tea in a drum heated by infrared, with high-temperature hot air as a helper. Sunyoung aims it at fixing stems thoroughly without scorching the leaf, and fits storage, metering and even-feed devices ahead of the drum. The brochure lists two sizes: the 6CSFT-60 at ≥50 kg/h and the 6CSFT-80 at ≥120 kg/h of fresh leaf. Heating is gas or electric. Two items need a written answer before you compare quotes: the base-power cells (1.6 and 1.72) carry no unit, and each size entry prints three numbers under a two-axis heading. The low-energy claim also comes without a measured figure.

Infrared plus hot air: how Sunyoung describes the drum

In the 6CSFT drum, infrared heating does the main work and high-temperature hot air assists. Sunyoung's goal is stems that are fully fixed and leaves that develop without scorching. That is a sharper target than a plain drum fixer, though the maker gives no emitter rating, heat split or separate controls for the two heat paths.

When you ask for a quote, find out which parts produce infrared heat and which blow hot air, where each condition is measured and how the two are controlled together. The word infrared on its own tells you nothing about wavelength or leaf temperature. Your own leaf in a trial will show whether the concept works for you.

The catalogue places the 6CSFT next to the 6CSF hot-air family. The two share an application and look alike, but their names, heat packages, power figures and conveyors differ. Compare each on its own published entries.

Testing stem fixation and leaf scorch on your green tea

Sunyoung names high-aroma green teas as targets, including Anji Bai Cha, Golden Leaf and Huangshan Maofeng. Anji Bai Cha appears here as a green-tea fixation example; this machine is not a white-tea withering line. Use the named teas to shape your trial, and judge aroma, look and cup quality on your own crop. Where fixation falls in green, black and white tea lines is explained in our guide to tea processing machinery by stage.

  1. Material

Describe your tea, plucking standard, share of stem to leaf, incoming moisture and handling before fixation. A fresh-leaf rate on one material may shift on another.

  2. Stem and leaf check

Agree with your processor how stem fixation and leaf condition will be scored side by side. The no-scorch aim is the thing you are testing.

  3. Cup and next steps

Set aroma, colour and next-process criteria with the tea master. Sunyoung's words about high aroma, pleasant aftertaste and clear liquor are descriptions, so write your own pass marks.

  4. Full-load run

Ask Sunyoung to name the build, settings, feed rate and run length used. Score the cooled output at those conditions; an empty-drum demonstration tells you little.

Published specifications

Read each value with its stated conditions, and ask the manufacturer for any limit not listed here.

SpecificationPublished valueMeaning / limit
Brochure sizes6CSFT-60 / 6CSFT-80 [1] [2]The module page itself names no model, so ask which one you are quoted. This family is separate from the 6CSF hot-air drums.
Heating methodInfrared heating plus auxiliary high-temperature hot air during drum processing [1] [2]Sunyoung publishes no emitter output, wavelength, temperature or residence time for either heat path.
Fresh-leaf rates6CSFT-60: ≥50 kg/h; 6CSFT-80: ≥120 kg/h [2]Brochure handling rates. Leaf condition, run length and quality targets behind them are not given.
Base power1.6 for 60; 1.72 for 80, unit not printed [2]With no unit, these cannot be read as kW or as a site load. Ask Sunyoung for the unit and the full electrical demand.
Heat sourceCurrent composition and brochure narrative: gas or electric; parameter rows: gas [1] [2]Only gas has a technical row, and its consumption cell just repeats the word gas. No electric values are printed.
Matched conveyors6CS45B-2.7 feed conveyor and 6CS50W-5 cooling conveyor for both reference models [2]Both sizes share these two conveyor codes. Any substitute cooling conveyor needs Sunyoung's approval.
Size entries60: 4250 × 1085 × 2025 mm; 80: 5370 × 1360 × 2235 mm [2]The heading reads length × width in mm, yet three numbers follow. Ask what the third figure measures.

6CSFT-60 and 6CSFT-80 side by side

The two sizes share feed and cooling conveyor codes and differ in leaf rate and size. Two printing gaps run through both rows: the base-power figure has no unit, and the size heading names two axes over three numbers. Have both corrected in writing before the figures go into a site plan.

ModelBrochure entries
6CSFT-60≥50 kg/h fresh leaf; base power 1.6 (unit missing); size 4250 × 1085 × 2025 mm, third figure undefined. Line: 6CS45B-2.7 feed, 6CSFT-60 main machine, 6CS50W-5 cooling.

Gas or electric heat, and the low-energy claim

The product page and brochure narrative offer gas or electric heating. The technical rows show gas only, and the thermal consumption cells repeat the word gas without a rate. With no unit on 1.6 or 1.72, total energy use cannot be worked out from the table.

Ask Sunyoung for the exact heating build, the fuel or electrical supply it needs, a full load schedule and its operating limits. If running cost decides your choice, request consumption measured over a defined loaded run, with leaf input, throughput, accepted output, warm-up treatment and the metering boundary written down. Savings in percent or cost per kilogram can only come from such a measured run.

The electric heating figure printed for the 6CSF family belongs to that family. An electric 6CSFT quote needs its own current specification.

Storage, metering, even feed and the cooling handoff

Ahead of the drum, Sunyoung lists storage, metering and even-feed devices alongside the integrated controls. They help when leaf arrives in bursts or the next machine runs unevenly. Capacities and control logic are not published, so define each device's job in the offer. Leaf can reach the drum on Sunyoung's 6CS conveyors and elevators, which the maker lists as a separate product.

Module functionWhat to settle with Sunyoung
Storage and meteringAsk for the buffer layout, how quantity is measured and the feed-control range. The exhibit photograph shows no hopper volume or weighing accuracy.
Even feedDescribe how leaf reaches the module and ask what the even-feed device regulates. Request the written response to a feed interruption or surge.
Cooling and next machineConfirm the 6CS50W-5 or an approved current alternative, its cooling duty and the joint to your next machine. The drum rate alone does not tell you what the downstream line will accept.
Controls and handoverGet the control and settings manual, sensor positions and agreed run and stop behaviour. Run the leaf trial through feed, drum and cooling together, and check the package list.

Buyer questions

Does the 6CSFT-80 need only 1.72 kW?

The cell reads 1.72 with no unit and covers base power only. Ask Sunyoung for the unit and a full electrical and heat-supply specification. [2]

Is there a full specification for an electric 6CSFT?

Electric heating is offered in the text, but the technical rows show gas and give no numerical consumption. Request the electric build's load values in writing. [1] [2]

Is this a white-tea line because Anji Bai Cha is listed?

Sunyoung lists Anji Bai Cha among high-aroma green teas for fixation. The 6CSFT is a fixation module, not a white-tea withering line. [1]

Does the higher rate of the 6CSFT-80 promise better quality?

The ≥120 kg/h figure is a handling rate with no stated leaf condition or quality test. Judge quality in a full-load run on your own leaf. [2]

Can I plan the room from the three size numbers?

The heading names only length and width in mm, so the third number needs explaining. Ask for a dimensioned assembly drawing with the access space your site must provide. [2]
