Sunyoung 6CFJ Continuous Black-Tea Fermentation Module

Sunyoung's 6CFJ module ferments rolled black tea continuously. Leaf rides a feed conveyor into a multi-layer belt machine inside an enclosed room, where environmental equipment supplies air, warmth and humidity under one control system. The brochure lists three sizes: 6CFJ6 with 3 belt layers and 4 kW total power, and 6CFJ20 and 6CFJ40 with 5 layers at 19 and 20 kW. The larger two are room-scale projects over 10 m long. Buy it as a line project: define the incoming leaf, the residence programme, the room services and the discharge to the next stage together.

Build my procurement brief

Map the leaf path from roller to dryer

Sunyoung describes rolled leaf moving across stacked belts in a closed, conditioned room and leaving for the next operation. No numeric programme or loaded residence result is published, so work these points out with Sunyoung first. What fermentation does between rolling and drying, for black tea in particular, is explained in our tea machinery stage guide.

  1. Describe the leaf coming in

Leaf preparation, typical condition, and whether the roller upstream empties in batches or continuously.

  2. Set the programme

Your tea specialists name the fermentation result wanted; Sunyoung states the environment and dwell time it supports for that leaf.

  3. Pin down the belt route

Effective belt length, speed range, leaf loading and feed control. The leaf travels further than the outside length.

  4. Plan the exit

How leaf is discharged into the next process, and what the line does when that process stops.

6CFJ6, 6CFJ20 and 6CFJ40 compared

The 20 and 40 share five belt layers, yet differ in size and total power. Capacity has to come from Sunyoung's loading and residence data for each model.

ModelLayers / total power / size
6CFJ63 layers; 4 kW; 4440 ×1175 ×2362 mm.
6CFJ205 layers; 19 kW; 10280 ×5130 ×3500 mm.
6CFJ405 layers; 20 kW; 13968 ×5130 ×3780 mm.
Before you chooseAsk for the layout, the loading and residence basis and a leaf result for each candidate. The 20 and 40 suffixes are model codes, so ask for each output rate.

Room, services and who supplies what

The product page puts a fermentation room, warming, humidifying and air supply inside the module. The brochure's model 20 example adds conveyors and control and power cabinets. Turn this into a site-specific supply list in the contract.

Scope itemSettle in the offer
Room and installationWho supplies the room or enclosure, its size and access, who installs it, and a site drawing.
Environmental equipmentHeating, humidifying and air-path layout, outside connections and the operating range for your room.
Power and controlsLoad schedule, supply, control and power cabinets, and which outside loads sit inside the quoted total.
Line linksFeed and discharge controls, links to the machines either side, and what happens on a stoppage.
Commissioning and serviceWho installs and tests the full system, the loaded acceptance test, and the operating and service manuals.

Proving even conditions along a loaded belt

Sunyoung credits even conditions to the layout of its temperature and humidity pipework and calls the environment controllable. These sources give no sensor map, setpoint range, measurement accuracy or loaded uniformity figures.

Ask for a run that logs leaf loading, belt movement and room readings along the whole route. Agree how residence time and the finished tea will be assessed, including start-up and a stop-start case. One steady reading at the controller describes one spot; get temperature, humidity and timing targets from Sunyoung for your leaf.

Continuous line or batch cabinet

This module is specified by belt layers and total power. Sunyoung's 5B and 10B cabinets are specified by leaf-spreading area and 2 kW heating, and carry their own naming and unit questions. Keep cabinet figures out of a continuous-line comparison.

Select the continuous line by its leaf flow, room and the controls delivered. If you are weighing a batch cabinet too, compare the whole loading and handling routine and the tea each produces, each in the configuration Sunyoung confirms.

Buyer questions

With five layers each, do the 6CFJ20 and 6CFJ40 have the same capacity?

Their size and power differ, and Sunyoung publishes no hourly capacity or residence data for either. Ask for both. [2]

Can I work out residence time from the machine length?

You also need effective belt length, speed, loading and control settings. Ask Sunyoung for the transport arrangement. [1] [2]

Are 4/19/20 kW the energy used per tonne?

They are total power figures from the brochure. Energy per tonne needs a measured run on a defined scope. [2]

The installation photo and your layout drawing

The product entry shows Sunyoung's own photo of conveyors feeding an enclosed fermentation installation beside cabinet equipment. No model tag can be read, so take it as a picture of the 6CFJ family in general.

Ask for dated photos and the approved drawing of the quoted build, with openings, leaf transfer heights, cleaning access and service space. Also request delivered weight, floor loading and a full installation and utility plan, since the brochure sizes leave out walkways and work routes. If the 6CHB continuous tea dryers will follow the fermentation room, put their infeed on the same plan.
