Sunyoung 6CHC Tea Resting and Moisture Equalization Module

Sunyoung's 回潮 module rests tea leaf on layered mesh belts so moisture can even out before further frying and shaping. Leaf comes in on a feed conveyor, is spread by a mobile distributor, rests on the belts for an adjustable 40–120 minutes, and leaves on a discharge conveyor under integrated controls. Moisture redistributes naturally; no spray or steam unit is listed. The brochure rates the 6CHC-10k, -20k and -25k at ≥100, ≥300 and ≥400 kg/h. Air conditioning can be added. Ask Sunyoung which rate holds at the resting time your tea needs.

Build my procurement brief

Why leaf is rested before shaping

Sunyoung describes three gains from resting: more even moisture through the leaf, less breakage, and easier frying and forming afterwards. Its process notes move from faster to slower belt movement, cool the leaf before it rests, spread it thinner then thicker, and soften it before forming. None of these steps has a number attached.

Start from your own line. Describe the process before resting and the leaf it delivers, state the condition your shaping machine needs, and ask Sunyoung to show with representative leaf how the quoted module gets there. Sunyoung calls resting an essential step; whether your tea needs it is part of that discussion.

6CHC-10k, 20k and 25k figures and the 25K set

The brochure lists three rows and one example set. The hourly rates are not tied to a resting time or load, so ask for that link when you choose a size.

Brochure rowFigures
6CHC-10k0.55 kW base power; ≥100 kg/h; 4920 × 1500 × 2425 mm.
6CHC-20k0.73 kW base power; ≥300 kg/h; 5970 × 1374 × 2900 mm.
6CHC-25k0.73 kW base power; ≥400 kg/h; 6000 × 1385 × 3476 mm.
25K example set6CHC-25K with 6CS44T-3.3/5.1 and 6CS40P-2.5 conveyors and module controls. Your quote sets the actual conveyor lengths and count.
Energy columnPrinted as "/", meaning no figure is given. Ask for heating or air-conditioning loads if your build includes them.

Hourly rate, resting time and leaf on the belts

In steady flow, the leaf on the belts at any moment equals feed rate times resting time. A simple sum shows why this matters: 300 kg/h held for 40 minutes puts 200 kg on the belts; held for 120 minutes it puts 600 kg there.

That arithmetic is for planning only. The belts have a load limit that Sunyoung has not published, so ask for the combinations of rate, time and load each 6CHC size supports before you link it to the rest of the line. Balancing one stage against the next is part of the line sizing covered in our guide to tea processing machinery by stage.

Checking the leaf from entry to discharge

Each successive layer in the brochure rests the leaf longer and spreads it thicker. Layer count, depth, belt speed and the exit target are for you and Sunyoung to set.

  1. Incoming leaf

Use leaf straight from your preceding process and record its condition by an agreed method.

  2. Belt route

Get the layer arrangement, distributor and belt path, with spread and load instructions.

  3. Operating case

Have Sunyoung confirm in writing that the build runs at your chosen time and feed rate together.

  4. Sampling

Agree where to sample on the belts and at discharge, judged against what your frying or shaping step needs.

  5. Downstream stop

Record the discharge rhythm, how lots stay separate, and what the module does when the next machine stops.

Adding air conditioning

According to Sunyoung, air conditioning can change resting conditions and shorten the time. No target temperature or humidity, unit capacity or time saving is printed, so treat it as a separate line in the quote.

Buyer questions

Does 回潮 mean the module sprays water on the leaf?

No spray, steam or humidifier is listed. Moisture evens out naturally while the leaf rests on layered belts. [1] [2]

Should every tea rest for 40–120 minutes?

That is the range the controls allow. Your leaf and the condition your shaping machine needs decide the setting. [1] [2]

Does the 6CHC-25k reach ≥400 kg/h at 120 minutes?

Sunyoung does not link rate to resting time. Ask for the supported operating range in writing and a trial with your leaf. [1] [2]

Is 0.73 kW a misprint for 0.75 kW?

The brochure prints 0.73 kW as base power. Ask Sunyoung for the motor and connected-load specification of your build. [2]

Belts, transfers and cleaning

Two official photographs show layered resting installations with different transfer layouts. They illustrate the concept; load limits and materials come from the drawings.

Ask for drawings of the belts, the feed and discharge connections and the access around the machine. Request lot-change and cleaning instructions, spare belts and drive parts for your build, and full electrical and control details. Contact materials, water connections and moisture sensing are not listed; ask if you need them. Feed and discharge links can use the maker's 6CS conveyors, and the module belongs to its wider tea processing range.
