Tea processing
Sunyoung Tea Heating Furnaces: Gas, DRL Electric, FP and GRFL Solid-Fuel
Sunyoung supplies three kinds of heat source for tea machines: gas direct furnaces (ZRFL and GRFL120-Qt), DRL electric heaters from 15 to 180 kW, and FP and GRFL hot-air furnaces burning wood, coal or pellets. The current table pairs each furnace with dryers, aroma equipment or 6CSF hot-air fixing machines, and lists fuel use, efficiency and size. Pick the receiving tea machine first, then the fuel your site can supply. A few points need a written answer: which gas the kg/h figures mean, the shared DRL-120/135 cell, and what the size columns measure.

Build my procurement briefStart from the tea machine that needs the heat
These furnaces exist to heat dryers, aroma equipment and hot-air fixing machines. Sunyoung's table suggests pairings, but the heat duty and the connection for your machine come from the quote. Work forward from the machine, then to the fuel. Which stages need heat, from fixation to drying, is laid out in our guide to tea processing machinery by stage.
Which tea machine
Name the dryer, fixer or aroma machine and its build. Ask Sunyoung to confirm the heat duty, duct or air connection and control link for that pairing.
Which energy
State the fuel and how it reaches your site. LPG and natural gas are different supplies, so tell Sunyoung which one and ask for the matched burner.
Electrical load
Keep the tea machine's motors and controls apart from the electric heating. Request one electrical schedule covering the whole system.
Running check
Pick a representative tea process with start-up and steady running. Hourly fuel figures and efficiency claims do not give energy per kilogram of finished tea; a run does.
Gas furnaces: fuel use, size and paired machine
One cell names both LPG and natural gas as the heating mode, and the family claims ≥98% thermal efficiency. Consumption is printed in kg/h, with no gas named per row and no load basis. Confirm the gas and the current build before sizing your supply line.

DRL electric heaters: ratings and furnace-body sizes
The DRL range heats with electric tubes. The table gives kW but no voltage, phase, circuit layout or control duty cycle, and actual hourly energy use depends on your process. Sizes cover the furnace body, so site space comes from a separate drawing.
| Electric heater | Rating, pairing and size |
|---|---|
| DRL-15 | 15 kW; for 6CHP60 equipment or a fermentation room. Size cell blank. |
| DRL-25 | 25 kW; for the 6CH1.8 dryer. Size cell blank. |
| DRL-60 | 60 kW; for the 6CHB-3 dryer. Furnace body 1840 × 600 mm. |
| DRL-80 | 80 kW; for a 6CHB-6 or DCH0.6×5.4 single-layer dryer. Furnace body 2400 × 600 mm. |
| DRL-120 / DRL-135 | One shared 120 kW cell and one shared 2400 × 600 mm furnace-body cell; for the 6CHB-10 or 6CHT-80. Ask Sunyoung for the exact rating of the DRL-135. |
| DRL-150 | 150 kW; furnace body 2600 × 600 mm. Shares a pairing cell with the 180 listing 6CHB-20 and 6CHT-100. |
| DRL-180 | 180 kW; furnace body 2980 × 600 mm; same shared pairing cell. Get the electrical and mechanical drawings for your combination. |

FP and GRFL solid-fuel furnaces on a standard-coal basis
Wood, coal and pellets share one heating-mode cell. Fuel use is stated in standard coal rather than any real wood or pellet grade, and the efficiency figures come without a test method, heat value or moisture basis. For a fair cost comparison with gas or electric, ask for consumption on the fuel you will actually burn.
| Solid-fuel furnace | Efficiency, fuel use, size and pairing |
|---|---|
| FP50 | ≥60% efficiency, shared with FP100. ≤30 standard coal per hour, with no kg symbol in the cell; size 1208×1960 mm; for 6CHB-6/10 dryers. Ask for the missing unit. |
| FP100 | ≥60% efficiency; ≤60 kg standard coal per hour; 1580×2410 mm; for the 6CHB-20 dryer. |
| GRFL60 | ≥65% efficiency; 25–30 kg standard coal per hour; 1200×3280 mm; for the 6CSF-80 hot-air fixing machine. Request a figure for your wood or pellet fuel. |
| GRFL120 | ≥70% efficiency; 55–60 kg standard coal per hour; 1480×3820 mm; for the 6CSF-100 hot-air fixing machine. Fuel storage, exhaust and auxiliaries are sized separately. |
Published specifications
Read each value with its stated conditions, and ask the manufacturer for any limit not listed here.
| Specification | Published value | Meaning / limit |
|---|---|---|
| Heat sources | Gas direct furnace; electric heating; wood/coal/pellet hot-air furnace [1] [2] | Name the fuel, model and package in the contract. |
| Gas efficiency | ≥98%, shared gas-family cell [2] | Sunyoung's figure for the gas family, with no test method or load point. Your site saving depends on your process. |
| Gas consumption unit | Published in kg/h although the energy cell names both LPG and natural gas [2] | The rows do not say which gas each kg/h value refers to. Ask before estimating gas supply or cost. |
| DRL electric ratings | DRL15/25/60/80/120/135/150/180; 15/25/60/80/shared120/150/180 kW [2] | DRL-120 and DRL-135 sit in one 120 kW cell. Ask what the DRL-135 actually draws. |
| Solid-fuel models | FP50/FP100/GRFL60/GRFL120; standard-coal consumption references [2] | Fuel use is given as standard coal, which differs from the wood or pellets you may burn. The FP50 cell lacks a kg unit. |
| Sizes and pairings | Reference paired tea machines; dimension heading diameter×height mm [2] | Gas rows print three numbers under a two-axis heading, and electric rows give the furnace body only. Site space comes from the arrangement drawing. |
What the package includes and how to check it
The current image labels split and integrated direct-furnace arrangements, an electric furnace and a small vaporisation station. These show the arrangements Sunyoung offers. Whether a vaporisation station, distribution ducting or any pictured auxiliary comes with your order must be written into the package list, along with who connects what.
Before planning the room, settle the size notation. The heading says diameter×height in mm, yet gas rows carry three numbers, and electric rows describe the furnace body. Ask for a current arrangement drawing that names each axis and shows connections, access and the full system space.
Sunyoung claims high efficiency, fast heating and no contamination of the tea. Ask how heat reaches your tea machine, what the controls monitor and how product quality and energy targets will be checked. The 98% gas figure, a solid-fuel percentage and an electric kW rating describe different things; compare the options in a run under the same process conditions.
At acceptance, record the fuel basis, model and rating, the approved pairing, connections and included auxiliaries. Run a representative process, check the heating response and the tea, and log energy in real units. Installation and burner adjustment follow the manuals supplied with the system and your installer.
Buyer questions
Is the DRL-135 a 135 kW heater?
The table puts DRL-120 and DRL-135 in one 120 kW cell. Ask Sunyoung to confirm the rating and supply the electrical drawing. [2]
Can I read the gas kg/h figures as natural gas in m³/h?
No. LPG and natural gas both appear, and the kg/h values are not tied to either. Confirm the gas, the unit and the load behind each figure. [2]
Will my installation reach ≥98% efficiency?
That is Sunyoung's family figure for gas, with no test method or load stated. Measure energy per kilogram of tea on your own process. [2]
How much wood or pellet fuel does a solid-fuel furnace burn?
The table gives standard coal only. Ask Sunyoung for consumption on your fuel grade and moisture. [2]
