Sunyoung 6CHP-941 Round-Bowl Tea Roasters

Sunyoung builds its round-bowl tea roaster for Biluochun-type tea and fine Maofeng-type tea, in a three-bowl 6CHP-941II and a five-bowl 6CHP-941I. Every bowl has its own airflow, temperature and start/stop control, so several small lots can run side by side. Each bowl carries 6 kW of heating, which adds up to 18 kW on the three-bowl machine and 30 kW on the five-bowl one. Listed rates are ≥8 and ≥15 kg/h. This page compares the two versions and covers bowl accessories, loading, a bowl-by-bowl trial and the service items to agree.

Build my procurement brief

Running separate lots in separate bowls

Sunyoung's selling point here is that each bowl has its own airflow, temperature and start/stop. A processor with several small lots can give each lot a bowl and run it on its own settings.

Check how far that works for your lots. Ask for the per-bowl control description and the settings Sunyoung supports. In the demonstration, assign a named lot to each bowl, note its load and settings, and keep its output labelled so the bowls can be compared. Stored recipes, logging and automatic end-of-process are separate features to ask about.

Three bowls or five

Width and height are the same on both, and the five-bowl machine is 1250 mm longer. Plan operator access along the full length. For continuous rather than lot-by-lot finishing, the maker's continuous drum tea aroma machine is the other option to price.

VersionCatalogue figures and what to check
Three bowls, 6CHP-941II1935 × 650 × 910 mm; 18 kW total heating; ≥8 kg/h. Confirm which bowls come fitted and the handling access.
Five bowls, 6CHP-941I3185 × 650 × 910 mm; 30 kW total heating; ≥15 kg/h. Get the full electrical schedule and plan access along the longer frame.
6 kW per bowl3×6=18 and 5×6=30 match the table. Ask how the heaters cycle and what the fans and drive draw.
RateAsk how many bowls were running, on what leaf and to what finished standard for the ≥8 and ≥15 figures.

Which bowls and accessories come with the machine

One Sunyoung photo shows five positions with round tea-holding bowls on top. Another shows a three-position frame with no round bowls fitted. The photos alone leave the scope of supply open.

Ask Sunyoung for a written list of bowls and accessories for your version, with bowl dimensions and the stainless grade of the contact parts.

A bowl-by-bowl demonstration

Sunyoung names the teas but gives no load, leaf depth, airflow range or temperature recipe. A demonstration that tracks each bowl gives you those numbers for your own leaf. For aroma finishing in a closed cabinet, compare the 6CTH-6.0 tea aroma finishing cabinet from the same tea processing catalogue.

  1. Agree the leaf and the target

Send representative tea at the stage it will arrive and agree the drying or roasting result to grade.

  2. Get the loading instructions

Ask Sunyoung for the charge and spreading method per bowl. The hourly rate gives no kg per bowl.

  3. Log each bowl

Record its lot, temperature and airflow settings, running time and any adjustment made.

  4. Include unloading and cleaning

Grade the output by the agreed method and time the full cycle, including handling and cleaning.

  5. Add up the real throughput

Compare the combined result of all bowls with the lot rhythm you need.

Buyer questions

Does one control per bowl mean automatic recipes?

Each bowl has its own airflow, temperature and start/stop. Ask Sunyoung separately about stored recipes, automatic finishing or logging. [1] [2]

Does each bowl hold 6 kg?

No. The 6 is kW of heating per bowl. Ask Sunyoung for the bowl charge. [2]

Which bowls come with an order?

The two photos show different fitted arrangements. Ask Sunyoung for the written accessory list for your version. [3] [4]

Is 18 or 30 kW the full electrical load?

Those are heater totals. Ask for a full electrical schedule with fans, controls and any other supplied equipment. [2]

Air pressure, controls and service

Sunyoung describes the air pressure as stable but prints no value, range or distribution data. Ask what it refers to on your build and whether any site air connection is needed. Our stage-by-stage guide to tea processing machinery covers the withering-to-drying steps that come before these bowls.
