Sunyoung 6CCP Bottle-Shaped Tea Frying Drums

Sunyoung's 6CCP-60 and 6CCP-110 are bottle-shaped drums that fry and dry tea while rolling it into tight strips, a job aimed mainly at tight-strip fried green tea. The drum is conical, which Sunyoung credits for tighter, finer strips. Each size comes as a fuel build or an electric build with its own dimensions. Electric heaters are 10.5 kW on the 60 and 36.5 kW on the 110, with drive motors of 0.55 and 1.1 kW. Listed rates are ≥7 and ≥30 kg/h. This page lays out the builds, the hourly figures, a leaf trial and the order scope.

Build my procurement brief

A drum for tight-strip tea

Sunyoung offers the bottle-shaped drum for frying, drying and forming tea, above all tight-strip fried green tea, and puts the tighter, finer strips down to the conical drum. Strip size, broken-leaf rate and final moisture are not quantified.

The same catalogue page shows double-pot machines meant for curled and ball-shaped tea. Pick between the two by the finished shape you want, and begin with representative leaf and an agreed sample of the finished form.

Four builds, four sets of dimensions

Fuel and electric versions of each size have different outer dimensions. Plan the floor around the build you actually order and get its drawing. For straight strips formed in troughs, the maker's 6CLZ green tea strip shapers are the other machine to look at.

Hourly rate, charge and cycle

The 60 is listed at ≥7 kg/h and the 110 at ≥30 kg/h. Sunyoung does not say whether that is tea in or tea out, how much moisture comes off, how much goes in per run or how long the full cycle takes. The numbers 60 and 110 in the model names carry no stated kilogram meaning.

Ask Sunyoung for the allowed charge and operating method for your drum and heat source. Then watch your leaf go through the whole job, loading, discharge and lot change included, before setting batch size or frying time.

Settings and the finished strip

Sunyoung says heating and drum motion can be adjusted, but prints no temperature, drum speed or time range. A trial on your leaf gives the working settings. Pan and drum work for green tea is one of the stages our tea processing machinery guide walks through.

  1. Define leaf in and tea out

Note the process before frying and the leaf condition, and agree the strip and dryness you want.

  2. Get the operating limits

Ask for charging, heating and drum-motion instructions for your build, plus the internal baffle layout and drum speed.

  3. Run your leaf

Use the chosen heat source and Sunyoung's recommended settings, keeping each lot labelled.

  4. Grade the result

Check strip form, breakage and moisture by the agreed method, and note time and settings.

  5. Check the hand-offs

See how leaf arrives from the step before and leaves for the next. Conveyors are a separate item.

Buyer questions

Is there a gas 6CCP-60?

The 60 rows list coal and electricity; gas is listed only with coal on the 110. Ask Sunyoung in writing if you need a gas 60. [2] [3]

What does the slash in the fuel heating column mean?

Only that no figure is printed for the fuel builds. They still need heat, so ask for the furnace rating and fuel use. [2] [3]

Should I choose this or the double-pot machine?

Sunyoung offers the bottle drum for tight strips and the double pots for curled or ball-shaped tea. Trial your leaf on the one that matches your shape. [1] [3]

Does the 110 take 110 kg?

The model number has no stated capacity meaning. Ask Sunyoung for the allowed charge and operating method. [2] [3]

What to fix in the order

Sunyoung's drum photo shows fittings under the drum without naming the model or fuel set. The quote and drawings should spell out the heat package. Sunyoung's own tea heating furnaces cover gas, electric and solid fuel, so name the one you want.
