Hongming Fresh Tea Leaf Tray Loader
Hongming's fresh-leaf tray loading machine spreads freshly picked tea leaves onto withering trays. Spreading thickness adjusts to leaf variety, shape, weight and grade. Hongming lists 15 seconds per tray, a 1.2 × 0.8 m spreading tray, a 3.7 × 1 × 1.5 m machine, 220 V and 0.75 kW. It is sold without a model code. To turn the tray cycle into kg/h, ask for the leaf mass per tray and run a demonstration on your own leaf and trays.

Build my procurement briefWill your trays fit the loader?
The 1.2 × 0.8 m tray size is a good first check against the trays in your tea room. Ask Hongming whether it is the outer frame or the spreading area, and which tray construction the loader takes.
| Tray detail to confirm | Why it matters in your room |
|---|---|
| Frame and usable area | Request a drawing with outer size, depth, edge profile, mesh and tolerances. |
| Tray presentation | Ask how trays enter and leave the machine, at what working height, and how a full tray is taken off. |
| Loaded handling | Agree the leaf mass per tray, how much the tray may bend and how it is carried, using your real tray. |
| Next process stage | Match the trays to your racks, trolleys or withering setup, and mark where trays are checked and held. |

Published specifications
Read each value with its stated conditions, and ask the manufacturer for any limit not listed here.
| Specification | Published value | Meaning / limit |
|---|---|---|
| Product name | Fresh-leaf tray loading machine; no model code given [1] | Ask Hongming for the current commercial designation and a machine drawing to name on your order. |
| Listed efficiency | 15 seconds per tray [1] | Ask whether tray exchange, leaf refilling and stoppages are included, and for the leaf mass per tray, to work out kg/h. |
| Machine dimensions | 3.7 × 1 × 1.5 m, length × width × height [1] | The machine body. Request installation, operator-access, service-clearance and material-flow drawings for room planning. |
| Spreading tray | 1.2 × 0.8 m, length × width [1] | Check whether this is the outer frame or the usable area, plus tray depth, mesh, weight and allowed deformation. |
| Supply voltage | 220 V [1] | Get phase, frequency, current, connection and protection details from Hongming before wiring the room. |
| Total power | 0.75 kW [1] | Rated power of the loader alone. Energy use and the full line load come from the project schedule. |
| Spreading adjustment | Thickness adjusted for leaf variety, shape, weight and grade [1] | Ask for the adjustment range, how it is set and how repeatable a setting is. |
| Handling quality | More even spreading; less damage than manual spreading [1] | Hongming's own description, with no test figures. Judge it on a trial with your leaf. |
From 15 seconds per tray to kg per hour
Hongming calls 15 seconds per tray its efficiency figure. The page does not say whether tray exchange, refilling, setting changes or pauses are included, and gives no leaf mass per tray. Hourly output depends on both.
Ask for a continuous run with your trays and typical fresh leaf. Count the filled trays, weigh the leaf, and log run time and stops separately. If Hongming then quotes a mass throughput, have it state the leaf, tray and run conditions behind the figure, and size the rest of the line on that basis.

Trial the spreading on your own leaf
Hongming says thickness adjusts to leaf variety, shape, weight and grade, and that spreading is more even with less damage than by hand. Set up a short trial so you can see those results on the leaf you process. Our guide to tea processing machinery by stage shows how withering and the later steps follow on from loading.
Describe the input
Note leaf variety, grade, picking condition and batch mass. Ask Hongming for the leaf types and operating limits it allows.
Agree the setting
Get the adjustment range, the setting procedure and a way to record the setting used.
Watch several trays
With your technical staff, measure tray loading and spread, including edges and corners, and log any stops.
Judge damage and evenness
Compare against a hand-spread batch using a leaf assessment you agree beforehand.

Placing the loader in your room
The 3.7 × 1 × 1.5 m body, 220 V supply and 0.75 kW power describe the loader itself. For a new room or a retrofit, ask Hongming for the installation schedule of the machine it will deliver. If the same building will also hold Hongming's fresh-air tea fermentation room, plan both machines on one layout.
| Published figure | What else to request |
|---|---|
| Machine envelope | A drawing with tray in and out positions, operator space, service access, delivery and assembly needs. |
| Leaf transfer | How leaf is fed in, buffer space, and the tray or trolley setup downstream. Ask whether a conveyor link is offered. |
| Electrical connection | Phase, frequency, current, protection and connection schedule for the delivered machine. |
| Cleaning and contact surfaces | Materials and cleaning instructions for the parts that touch leaf, including steel grade and any food-contact declaration. |

What to fix on the order
Because the loader has no published model code, ask for a dated machine specification or commercial designation, a layout drawing and a bill of supply. Tie your tray choice and spreading setup to that document, so the order stays clear if Hongming later changes the design.
Ask whether trays, feeding equipment, trolley or rack links, installation and training are included. Request manuals, spare-parts lists, cleaning guidance and the warranty for the delivered machine. Price, lead time, stock, certificates and parts supply all come from a current written quotation. Equipment for each tea stage from other makers is collected on our tea processing page.

Buyer questions
What is the model code of this loader?
Hongming lists it by name only. Ask for the current model or a dated commercial specification and have it printed on the quotation. [1]
How many kilograms per hour can it handle?
Hongming gives 15 seconds per tray but no leaf mass per tray or continuous-run conditions. Ask for a weighed demonstration and a quotation based on your leaf and trays. [1]
Will my existing 1.2 × 0.8 m trays fit?
Compare drawings first: outer and usable size, edge profile, construction, tolerances, how trays are presented, and the handling after loading. [1]
How thin or thick can it spread the leaf?
Hongming gives no thickness range. Ask for the available settings and a repeatability record on leaf like yours. [1]
Does it really reduce leaf damage?
Hongming says it does, without published test results. Agree leaf conditions and an assessment method with Hongming and your tea specialists, then compare on a trial batch. [1]
