HONGMING 6CWF/6CDF Continuous Tea Withering Line

HONGMING's continuous tea spreading and withering line comes in two sizes: 6CWF-90C/6CDF-90C and 6CWF-180C/6CDF-180C. The table gives 500 kg or 1000 kg of fresh leaf per batch, with 50 kW or 100 kW installed power, and the page says the line runs two batches per day. It combines dehumidification and moisture exhaust with air exchange, adjustable temperature, humidity and airflow, and automatic leaf turning, pushing and blending. Choose a size from a trial on your leaf and a full handling and utility layout, and ask HONGMING to state hourly output in writing if you need one.

Continuous mode and batch loading: how the day runs

HONGMING's technical table calls the working mode continuous, and its loading row gives 500 kg or 1000 kg per batch. The page adds two batches per day. Both can be true for different parts of the sequence, but the page does not set out how feeding, turning, blending and discharge are timed. Ask HONGMING for the cycle before you plan an hourly figure.

  • Define what runs continuously

Ask whether continuous refers to leaf movement, air treatment, repeated batches or continuous feed and discharge for your version. Request the cycle diagram and control sequence.

  • Log a full day

With your leaf and batch size, record loading, treatment, transfers, cleaning and waiting. Ask how the end of treatment is decided and under what conditions two batches per day was reached.

  • Keep weights apart

Record fresh-leaf mass in, withered-leaf mass out and any losses separately. Saleable dry tea is calculated from your own process figures.

Tea and process scopeGreen, black, white and yellow tea; spreading, withering pretreatment and fresh/withering-leaf preservation [1] [2]HONGMING's stated uses. Each tea type needs its own settings, agreed with your tea maker.
Water requirementClean tap water [1] [2]Ask for flow, pressure, treatment, temperature and drainage details.

Matching air handling to your incoming leaf

HONGMING describes combined dehumidification and moisture exhaust, fresh and return air exchange, and high and low-speed convection, with adjustable temperature, humidity and airflow. The page gives no airflow rates, water-removal capacity, operating map or energy figures. Green, black, white and yellow tea each need settings of their own.

How HONGMING describes the processWhat to check in a leaf trial
Incoming materialGive cultivar, maturity, time since picking, leaf condition and your spreading or withering goal. Ask how operators choose a recipe and check that the batch size suits that leaf.
Air exchange and removalRequest the fresh-air and exhaust layout, the treatment modules and their capacity at stated inlet air conditions. Ask for fan speed, air volume and air speed across the bed.
Turning and blendingAsk when automatic turning, pushing and blending run, with the handling geometry and allowed sequence. HONGMING says water loss is more even with fewer scorched edges; watch for this on your own leaf.

Controller settings and the leaf endpoint

Both sizes list 18–38°C and 45–80% as temperature and humidity setting ranges, without accuracy, evenness or sensor positions. The humidity figure is room air, while leaf moisture is a separate measurement. The photographed screen shows a trend display; ask whether logs are stored and can be exported, and at what sampling rate.

  1. Locate the sensors

Request sensor positions, what each reading measures, calibration, and the range and accuracy for your build. Ask whether displayed temperature is supply air, return air or another point.

  2. Measure under load

Agree measuring points and sampling across a full batch in each mode. See how leaf load and outside weather change the conditions in the bed.

  3. Set the endpoint

Have HONGMING and your tea process owner define the leaf condition that ends withering and how it is judged. Keep the readings and samples from the trial.

Power, water and air for the whole line

The smaller pair lists 50.0 kW installed power and the larger pair 100.0 kW, both on 380V/50Hz. The page also asks for clean tap water. Installed power differs from energy per batch, and the table does not say whether every ancillary machine is counted or what the start-up demand is.

Published requirementWhat to get before installation
Electrical packageFinal load list, electrical drawings, connection details and start-up and running demand for every supplied module. Have a qualified electrician match these to your site.
Water and drainageWater quality, flow, pressure and connections, which functions use water, and how condensate and other discharge are handled.
Air and energyFresh-air and exhaust routes and any clearance or environmental limits. For running cost, ask for measured energy per batch with duration, leaf condition, settings and outside conditions.

Fitting the four handling units into your building

The two bodies measure 12.8 × 3.9 × 4.5 m and 18.8 × 3.9 × 4.5 m. Each size comes with four handling machines, and the table does not say whether they sit inside those dimensions or how they link to the steps before and after. The photo shows a separate inclined leaf elevator beside the enclosure, so ask for a full plan and elevation. Hongming's fresh tea leaf tray loader and its fresh-air tea fermentation room are the neighbouring machines to raise when you draw that plan.

Catalogue itemWhat to define with HONGMING
Fresh-leaf entryThe 90C pair lists a fresh-leaf elevator and the 180C pair a lifting and distribution unit. Get receiving height, feed geometry and scope of supply for the pair you choose.
Weighing and transferAsk for the weighing conveyor's range, accuracy, calibration and role in the controls, how weights are recorded and how leaf moves into the treatment path.
Turning, pushing and blendingConfirm how the turning and pushing elevator and the blending conveyor hand over leaf. Include inspection access, cleaning, guards and HONGMING's maintenance and removal steps.
Plant accessFloor loads, module weights, installation heights, service space and delivery route, including roof height and utility runs. The 4.5 m machine height leaves out installation and service clearance.

Model identity, hygiene and handover

The table pairs 6CWF-90C with 6CDF-90C and 6CWF-180C with 6CDF-180C without explaining the CWF and CDF prefixes. Ask HONGMING to name the exact version supplied, its process modules, leaf-contact surfaces, control software revision and auxiliary list. Request the food-contact grade, cleaning method and any link to a remote monitoring system in writing.

HONGMING says the line preserves leaf and lowers scorched-edge and bud-damage rates, without a test method. For acceptance, run a defined incoming batch through an agreed sequence and keep controller readings, leaf samples and the endpoint reached. Record any faults and HONGMING's written remedy. Collect manuals, cleaning and service instructions and the documents your country requires at handover. Withering equipment from other makers is listed on our tea processing page.

Buyer questions

What is the hourly output of this continuous line?

HONGMING gives fresh leaf per batch and two batches per day, but no cycle time. Ask which part of the process runs continuously and for an hourly figure based on your leaf. [1] [2]

How much leaf does each batch take?

The table pairs 500 kg with 1000 市斤 and 1000 kg with 2000 市斤, per batch of fresh leaf. Finished tea output is much lower. [2]

Is 45–80% the final leaf moisture?

It is the humidity control range for the air. Ask HONGMING for the leaf-moisture endpoint method and sensor details for your process. [2]

What is the difference between CWF and CDF?

Both appear in each size column without explanation. Ask HONGMING to name the version and its functions on the quotation. [2]

Can I estimate cost per batch from 50 or 100 kW?

Those are installed power figures. For running cost, ask for measured energy with duration, modules running, settings, leaf and weather conditions. [1] [2]
