Taite CBL36AR3 Combine Conversion Track System

CBL36AR3 is a complete combine conversion track system from Taite's UltimaTrack range, sold as an assembly with its own frame, tensioner and bogie wheels. The brochure gives 2655 mm length and 1690 mm height in side view, 915 mm track width, and 2245 kg weight with 1.8 m² contact area per side. It is listed for John Deere, Case IH and Claas combines. To quote it, Taite needs your combine build, axle interface and running clearances, and you need the load limits and installed weight back in writing.

What a CBL36AR3 conversion includes

Taite's brochure shows CBL36AR3 as a conversion track system with combine applications. Buying it means buying the running assembly, axle attachment, tensioning, wheels and hubs, and the matched belt. A quote for a 915 mm rubber belt on its own is a different product.

Ask Taite to list every item in the offer: left and right modules, axle adapters and fixings, tensioning and control parts, fitted belts, instructions and installation support. Ask what changes the combine will need. The brochure gives no axle bolt pattern, adapter design or speed ratio, so the model number starts an engineering match and the install drawing comes from Taite for your machine.

Published specifications

Read each value with its stated conditions, and ask the manufacturer for any limit not listed here.

SpecificationPublished valueMeaning / limit
ModelCBL36AR3 / Taite UltimaTrack conversion system [1]A complete walking assembly for one side of the combine, supplied with its belt.
Side-view length2655 mm [1]Front-to-rear length of the assembly, printed on both the drawing and the table.
Side-view height1690 mm [1]Drawn as 642 mm above and 1048 mm below the upper drive axis. Check clearance on your combine against the interface drawing.
Track width915 mm [1]Belt width only; overall combine width depends on the mounting offset.
Assembly weight2245 kg per side [1]Weight of one assembly. Axle capacity and net weight change after removing wheels are separate figures to request.
Contact area1.8 m² per side [1]Taite's catalogue figure; the load and ground conditions behind it are not stated.
Listed combinesJohn Deere S660 / S680 / S760 / S780 / 9670STS; Case IH 6088 / 6130 / 6140 / 7130 / 7140; Claas Tucano 470 [1]Taite's application list, without year, serial or axle-option limits. Confirm fit for your machine in writing.
MechanismsHydraulic tensioner with accumulator; rubber-covered oscillating bogie wheels [1] [2]Construction of the conversion family. Ask for the pressure, load and stroke settings of the AR3 build you order.

Reading the AR3 side drawing for clearance

The enlarged drawing gives more than the overall size. Values below are as drawn; ask Taite for the current drawing with installation orientation and datums.

Dimension on the drawingUse it to check
1255 mm and 1400 mm horizontal spansThe upper axis sits off-centre within the 2655 mm length. Ask which end faces forward when fitted, then check panels, the crop path and running clearance.
642 mm above / 1048 mm below the upper axisThese add up to the 1690 mm height. Ride height, header clearance and axle clearance on your combine need their own check after mounting.
1894.5 mm inner horizontal dimensionA second span inside the overall length. The drawing does not define it; ask Taite what it measures before using it as ground-contact length.
915 mm track widthWidth across the belt. Check the mounting offset and total combine width as well.

Fitting AR3 to a listed combine

Taite's model block lists John Deere, Case IH and Claas combines, from the 9670STS and S660 to later S-series machines. It gives no year or serial range and no allowed axle options per machine. Use the names to steer your enquiry to the right adapter and drawing; different listed combines may need different kits.

Send Taite the full combine model and build, axle and drive interface, current wheels or tracks, and key clearances. Ask who approves the conversion and checks the installation on your machine. If your operating or warranty terms require the combine maker's approval, get it from the maker; the application list is Taite's own.

2245 kg per side, axle load and installed weight

The weight column says one side. Two modules add up to 4490 kg, but the real change in combine weight also depends on the wheels and tyres removed and the adapters added. The module weight also says nothing about how much combine load the system or axle can carry.

Ask Taite for an installed weight breakdown, the machine load cases it has considered, and the permitted axle and module loads. Base that check on your operating setup: a full grain tank, the header and any ballast all shift load, and the brochure does not cover load distribution or payload after conversion.

Contact area and soil pressure

Taite prints 1.8 m² contact area for one side, and its conversion page talks about flotation and lower compaction. It does not give the load, ground or belt deflection behind that area, a pressure map, or a field comparison. The loaded footprint in your fields may differ from twice the catalogue area.

Ask how Taite defines the contact area and for the loaded geometry. Work out flotation from the actual load each module carries and your soil, not from the module's own weight. Average contact pressure, local roller loads and field results are three different measures; agree with Taite which ones it will demonstrate.

AR3 or the larger AR4

CBL36AR4 shares the 915 mm belt and 1690 mm height but prints 3008 mm length, 2505 kg per side and 2.1 m² contact area per side. Compared with AR3 it is 353 mm longer and 260 kg heavier per side, with a different bogie layout in the drawing. Its larger contact area comes with more weight and length, so check load and clearance for each model on your axle.

The listed combines also differ. AR4 names S680/S760/S780; AR3 has a longer list. Ask Taite to confirm fit for the model you choose, since a fit statement for one does not carry over to the other. For a smaller combine, Taite also builds the CBM25BR4 compact combine conversion track kit.

Buyer questions

Is 2245 kg the total conversion weight?

It is the weight of one side. The installed figure depends on the number of modules, the adapters added and the wheels removed; ask Taite for the breakdown. [1]

Can I work out ground pressure from 2245 kg and 1.8 m²?

That uses the module's own weight, not the load it carries, and the catalogue does not state the loaded footprint conditions. Ask Taite for the load and contact-area basis. [1] [2]

Is the 1894.5 mm dimension the ground-contact length?

The drawing prints it as an inner horizontal span with no label. Ask Taite to define it on the current drawing. [1]

Is CBL36AR4 simply a bigger, better AR3?

No. AR4 is longer, heavier per side, has a different bogie layout and a different list of combines. Choose by your axle load, clearance and machine. [1]

Tensioner, hub and bogie service documents

The brochure shows an accumulator-assisted hydraulic tensioner, a one-piece forged sprocket shaft, double-layer hub seals and rubber-covered oscillating bogie wheels. Expect each of these in the parts and service package. The brochure gives no AR3 pressure setting, seal life, oscillation travel or fatigue rating.

Taite's rubber-track guide covers belts in general, and its 10–20 mm tension check is for simple belts. For this hydraulic system, ask for the AR3 installation, inspection and tensioning documents, the part numbers for hubs, bogies and belts, and who provides service where the combine works. Plain replacement belts, such as the T762A-M03P137 friction track for MT700 tractors, are a separate product line from these systems.
