Grain processing

Guangchang TQSX and TQSF Gravity Stoners

Guangchang builds gravity destoners for taking stones and other heavy impurities out of paddy and wheat. It publishes five arrangements: standard suction (TQSX56–168), A-series suction (TQSX100A–250A), gravity-classified (TQSX100x2–180x2), double-ply (TQSF120x2) and A-series classified (TQSF80A–195A). They differ in air duty, drive and how they handle grain that ends up in the stone stream. Pick the arrangement for your grain first, then the size. Several sheets print capacity without a unit and one air figure looks misprinted, so ask Guangchang to confirm those in writing before you size the line.

Build my procurement brief

The five destoner builds and what each does

All five builds separate by weight and air, which sets them apart from screen cleaners. IRRI's milling guide lists de-stoning as its own stage between pre-cleaning, paddy separation and grading, which helps place the machine in a rice line. Our note on grain cleaning and handling line basics puts the destoner after the sieve and magnet in a typical line.

Build and model rangeHow Guangchang describes it
Standard suction, TQSX56–168For stones and mud-like heavy impurities in wheat, paddy and white rice. Only wheat has a capacity row.
A-series suction, TQSX100A–250ASeparate paddy and wheat rows, with twin vibration motors. Size paddy and wheat lines from their own rows, and ask about white rice separately.
Gravity-classified, TQSX100x2–180x2Air passes up through the grain bed; grain and heavy impurities move in opposite directions because of their different density and suspension speed. Effective screen sizes are printed.
Double-ply, TQSF120x2Adds a secondary screen with its own fan to pull grain back out of the stone stream. Guangchang says this cuts grain loss but gives no figure.
Classified A, TQSF80A–195AGuangchang says it holds grain better when feed stops and cites patent number 8928366. Ask for the patent document and a stop-start demonstration.

Pressure figures and reference fans

A fan is chosen from volume and pressure together, measured at known points on a known duct and filter layout. On the filter end of that layout, Guangchang offers its TBLM and TBLMA pulse bag filters. The sheets print the figures below in their own fields and units.

What the sheet printsWhat to ask Guangchang
Standard suction resistanceTQSX56: 15–25 mm H₂O; 85/100/125: 40–50 mm H₂O; 168: 50–60 mm H₂O. The TQSX168 air volume still needs correcting before fan sizing.
Suction A resistance100A/125A: 40–50 mm H₂O; 150A/200A: 50–60; 175A/250A: 60. Ask for the full-system pressure your fan must meet.
Classified x2Every row prints static pressure 500–900 Pa and device resistance 1200 mm H₂O. Ask Guangchang to confirm the units and where each is measured.
Double-plyOperating static pressure 600–700 Pa beside device resistance 1200 mm H₂O. The internal fan is a separate drive; ask whether external aspiration is still required.
Reference fans on the classified sheet4-72-4.5A (7.5 kW), 4-72-5A (11 kW), 4-72-5A (15 kW), 4-72-6C (17 kW, 2200 rpm), listed by ascending model. Ask for current fan curves for your duct layout.
Figures without unitsClassified amplitude 4.5–5.5 and frequency 930 have no units, and duct diameters are marked Φ only. Ask Guangchang to state each unit.

Check the clean grain and the stone outlet

A destoner has two outlets that both matter: clean grain should carry no stones, and the stone outlet should carry as little grain as possible. The classified sheet describes grain and heavy impurities moving in opposite directions. The double-ply sheet adds a secondary screen to send grain caught with the stones back into the clean stream. Neither sheet gives a recovery percentage or a test method.

For a trial with Guangchang, name the paddy or wheat, its moisture and impurity mix, the build and the tonnage. Check for stones left in the grain and for good grain lost with the stones. Judge the machine on both outlets together.

The classified A sheet raises a further question: what happens to grain on the deck when feed stops and restarts? Ask for a demonstration on the build you are buying. Set screen angle and air from Guangchang's current manual for that machine.

Dimensions, weight and upkeep

All five overall-dimension headings end in m while the rows hold four-digit figures. Ask for a drawing with the unit stated before planning floor space or freight. The examples below show which row each drawing should match.

Build and printed outlineWeight and what to request
Standard TQSX1001514×1124×1809 as printed; 380 kg. Standard-family weights run from 260 to 560 kg.
Suction TQSX125A1750×1500×1880 as printed; 500 kg. The 175A row prints a 1950 height, while the other A rows print 1880.
Classified TQSX120x21720×1516×1875 as printed; 600 kg. Effective screen 1200×1200 mm.
Double-ply TQSF120x22080×1740×2030 as printed; 650 kg. Ask for the layout showing the secondary-screen fan and outlets.
Classified TQSF125A1400×1470×1770 as printed; 500 kg. It has its own outline, separate from the suction 125A.
Supply and upkeepConfirm the unit, inlets and outlets, duct connections, access, support loads and handling. Ask for spare-part numbers for screens, vibration motors and air path, and a maintenance schedule to back the durability and no-lubrication wording.

Buyer questions

Are the capacity figures in tonnes per hour?

No rate unit is printed on the sheets. Ask Guangchang for a table with the unit and the grain condition stated. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]

Is TQSF120x2 the same machine as TQSX120x2?

No. The double-ply sheet prints TQSF with an internal fan; the classified sheet prints TQSX with different figures. Order by the full code. [3] [4]

Should the TQSX168 air volume read 8000–10000?

The sheet prints 8000–1000. Ask Guangchang to confirm the correct range in writing before sizing a fan. [1]

Does the double-ply internal fan replace plant aspiration?

The sheet lists both an internal fan for the secondary screen and an aspiration volume. Ask Guangchang whether your layout needs an external fan as well. [4]

What does the patent on the classified A build cover?

The sheet cites number 8928366 with a claim of better grain holding when feed stops. Ask for the patent document and a stop-start demonstration. [5]
