DAYEE DY580-173P-00 Petrol Leaf Collector

The DAYEE DY580-173P-00 is a hand-push petrol machine that vacuums leaves through a front intake into a 150 L rear bag, mulching them at up to 10:1 by DAYEE's figure. It works a 58 cm (23 inch) width and runs on DAYEE's own DY1P70FA 173 cc engine. Suction height adjusts at the front through five positions from 15 to 60 mm, and an optional DY580-03 hose kit reaches leaves the intake cannot. DAYEE lists it in its Walk Behind Leaf Blower Series. It suits clearing loose leaves from lawns, paths and yards. This page covers the full table, the engine page, bag handling, the hose option and what to send for a quote.

Build my procurement brief

What this machine does

Despite the blower-series name, the DY580-173P-00 is set up to collect. Its table lists suction height, a collection bag and mulching, and the photograph shows a front intake feeding a large rear bag. No blowing or reversible mode is listed.

It is made for loose leaves. The chipper field is a slash, so branches, stones and other hard debris are outside its job. Tell DAYEE what you need to clear: leaf type, how wet it usually is, the surface and the finish you expect, and ask for the list of permitted materials. Stem diameter limits, wet-leaf throughput and area per hour are not published. Within DAYEE's range, the DY780-212S-00 self-propelled leaf collector suits buyers who would rather not push, while the DY580-1600S-00 dual-battery and CXD1600 mains-powered collectors run without petrol.

Idle airflow and a working demonstration

DAYEE prints 37 m/s and 2650 m³/h as idle figures. Where they were measured and how they change as the bag fills are not stated. A short demonstration on your own leaves tells you more. Leaf and grounds-care machines from other makers are grouped under garden and forestry.

ItemWhat to agree with DAYEE
Front intakeA demonstration on your leaf type and surface, with the bag supplied and a stated height setting. Record how much is picked up and how long it takes.
Filling bagHow suction changes as the bag fills, and when the machine should be stopped and emptied. The maximum filled weight is not printed.
Hose kitPerformance and limits for the DY580-03 kit if you order it. Hose-end airflow may be lower than the intake figures.
Comparing machinesCompare collectors on the same leaves and settings. Idle airflow alone does not rank machines.

The 150 L bag and where to empty it

DAYEE quotes mulching of up to 10:1. Real reduction depends on leaf type and moisture, and the test conditions are not given. Plan with the 150 L bag volume. The maximum filled-bag weight is not listed either.

Include the emptying point and route in your enquiry. Ask for instructions on fitting, removing, emptying and cleaning the bag, and on keeping the air path clear. Agree what a good collection result looks like with the configuration you are buying. Bag size helps compare offers; trips to the tip depend on your leaves.

Intake height, handle and pushing route

The operator pushes the machine, sets the front intake height and adjusts a telescopic, rotary handle. Overall size, pushing force and weight are not printed.

FeatureWhat to ask for
Five intake positionsThe range runs from 15 to 60 mm. Ask for the position diagram and recommended settings for each surface.
58 cm widthFull width with wheels and handle, and turning space, so you can check gates and paths.
Route and surfaceGuidance on slopes, soft ground and pushing a full bag. Wheel sizes of 8 and 10 inch set no limits by themselves.
Handle and storageAdjustment limits, working and transport positions and folded size. Adjust the handle as the manual instructs.

Adding the DY580-03 hose kit

DY580-03 is the only accessory named in the table. Scarifier, brush and chipper fields are slashes, so this model offers none of those functions.

  1. Describe the hose job

Tell DAYEE which corners or beds the front intake cannot reach. Hose diameter, reach and nozzle shape are not published.

  2. Confirm what is in the kit

Ask for kit contents, fittings and changeover steps for the DY580-173P-00.

  3. Get the changeover procedure

Request instructions for switching between intake and hose, including engine stop and guard checks.

  4. List it on the quote

Have the kit and its spare parts priced as separate lines. It is optional and not in the standard box.

Buyer questions

Can it blow leaves as well as collect them?

The table lists suction and collection only. If you need a blowing mode, ask DAYEE in writing whether any version offers it. [1] [3]

Does 10:1 mean each bag holds 1500 L of leaves?

Not reliably. The ratio is DAYEE's best-case figure without stated test conditions. Plan around the 150 L bag and your own leaves. [1]

Is the hose included?

No. DY580-03 is an optional accessory. Ask for its contents, fit and price on the quote. [1]

Is 3.1 kW the output at 3400/min?

The 3.1 kW is the engine's maximum at 3600 rpm. Ask DAYEE what the 3400/min entry measures and the output at that speed. [1] [2]

Can I plan transport on the engine's 13.5 kg?

That is the bare engine. Ask DAYEE for the full machine and packed weights before booking transport. [1] [2]
