DAYEE CXD1600 Mains-Powered Leaf Collector

The DAYEE CXD1600 is a corded, hand-pushed leaf collector for 230 V / 50 Hz mains. An AC brush motor, listed at 1600 W idle power, draws leaves through a 40 cm (16 inch) front mouth and mulches them, by DAYEE's figure up to 10:1, into a 45 L bag. Four front-wheel positions set the intake height from 15 to 60 mm. Compact and light on packing, it suits small gardens, patios and paths within cable reach. This page goes through the supply and cord route, intake setup, the bag, how to read the idle figures, access and servicing, and the checks to make when it arrives.

Build my procurement brief

Power supply and cable route

The CXD1600 runs on 230 V / 50 Hz through an AC brush motor; there is no battery or petrol version of this model. The illustration shows a cord, but its length and plug are not given, so plan the working area around the cable you will actually receive. For battery or petrol power, look at DAYEE's DY580-1600S-00 dual-battery and DY580-173P-00 petrol leaf collectors instead.

TopicWhat to ask DAYEE
Your market's buildPlug type, supplied cord, rated input and current, manual and the conformity papers for your country. Matching voltage alone leaves the plug and approvals open.
Cable routeShow the socket, turns, borders and obstacles. Ask for DAYEE's approved cable routing and extension limits, then walk the route with the real cable.
Weather and protectionApproved operating conditions, protection requirements and instructions for cord checks, connecting, stopping and unplugging. Ask specifically about damp leaves and wet ground.

Intake height and a 40 cm pass

Four front-wheel positions set the intake between 15 and 60 mm, and each pass clears up to 40 cm. The illustration shows a wide front mouth. No blade or scarifier attachment is offered on this model. Comparable machines from other makers are grouped in our garden and forestry category.

  1. Describe leaves and ground

Note leaf condition, depth and surface. Ask whether twigs, grit or stones are allowed through the intake.

  2. Set the position

Request the adjustment steps and the height at each of the four positions, and note which one you used in a trial.

  3. Judge real passes

Record pass length, turns, bag condition and what is left behind. Cable handling, overlap and emptying all slow real work below a width-times-speed estimate.

The 45 L bag and mulching

The 45 L bag sits behind the intake and under the handle in DAYEE's illustration. Its fixing, maximum filled weight and fill line are not listed. Ask for the instructions to remove, empty, clean and refit it, including the stop and unplug steps from the manual.

DAYEE's mulching figure of up to 10:1 gives no leaf type, moisture or measuring method, so a bag will not always hold 450 L of loose leaves. If you compare machines, agree the material and how volumes are measured, and count emptying stops.

Reading the idle power, airflow and speed

DAYEE lists Idle Power 1600W, Idle Air Speed 37.5m/s, Idle Air Volume 2200m³/h and Rated Speed 13400/min as four separate entries. Measurement points and loaded curves are not given, so these figures say little about efficiency, collection rate or noise.

Getting it around the site, and servicing

The operator pushes the CXD1600, so route and handling matter, though pushing effort is not quantified. Where pushing is a problem, the DY780-212S-00 self-propelled leaf collector drives itself. The 6 and 7.5 inch wheels set no slope or obstacle limit by themselves. The 510 × 460 × 375 mm figure is the carton, so ask for the assembled size before checking gates.

  • Route

Assembled dimensions, weight, turning space, approved slope and obstacle limits, and handle folding instructions for storage.

  • Service

Part numbers and suppliers for the bag, inlet, wheels, motor brushes and cord, plus the written warranty and service terms for this model.

Checks when the CXD1600 arrives

The container counts are a loading plan. Confirm stock, final carton contents and weight before dispatch. On arrival, record the identity and assembly of this exact model, since other CXD products carry different options and power.

  1. Identity and electrics

Check the nameplate, supply rating, agreed plug and cord and the manuals. Photograph the identifiers for your order file.

  2. Intake, bag and wheels

Compare the parts list with the front adjustment, bag, handle and wheels. Report missing or damaged parts and agree a fix before any trial.

  3. Trial and records

Run the agreed material, route and bag test under the manual. File the result and any agreed exceptions with the quote, packing list and warranty.

Buyer questions

Is the CXD1600 self-propelled or battery-powered?

Neither. DAYEE lists it as Hand Push on 230 V / 50 Hz with an AC brush motor. [1]

Is 1600 W the power drawn while working?

DAYEE labels it Idle Power. Ask for the nameplate input and current under load, and the duty rating, in writing. [1]

What are the four intake heights?

DAYEE gives four front-wheel positions spanning 15–60 mm. Ask for the height of each position and the adjustment steps. [1]

Is 40 cm the width I need for storage?

No, 40 cm is the working width. The assembled machine with handle is wider; ask for its full dimensions. [1]

How far can I work from the socket?

That depends on the cord supplied and the extension DAYEE approves. Ask for the cord length and extension rules, then check them against your route. [1] [2]
