Superpower CPY0130 Electric Chipper Shredder

The Superpower CPY0130 is an electric chipper shredder for garden pruning waste. It runs on 230 V with a 2.5 kW motor and cuts with two blades and four hammers. It rolls on 13-inch pneumatic wheels, weighs 77 kg net, and ships at 117 kg in a 99 × 75 × 65 cm package. Superpower's page gives two branch limits, 3 inches in the feature text and 50 mm in the specification table, so ask for one confirmed figure for your configuration. Below are the motor, cutter and handling data, and a trial plan to agree before you order.

3 inches or 50 mm: get one branch limit

Three inches is 76.2 mm, while the specification table on the same CPY0130 page says 50 mm. The page gives no note explaining the difference or saying which figure applies.

Ask Superpower for a dated specification tied to the model, the cutter assembly and the version you are offered. That document should state the material and the largest branch the machine accepts. Run your trial against that agreed figure. If your prunings regularly run thicker than that, quote the Speedy SPY-10 Branch Chipper or the Changxu CXC-701-1E Orchard Branch Chipper alongside it.

Published specifications

Read each value with its stated conditions, and ask the manufacturer for any limit not listed here.

SpecificationPublished valueMeaning / limit
Motor supply230 V [1]Ask for the frequency, phase, rated current, plug type and circuit protection the motor needs.
Motor power2.5 kW [1]Superpower's rated motor power. Ask for measured throughput on your material.
Branch capacity3 inches in feature copy; 50 mm in the table [1]Two different figures on one page. Ask Superpower to confirm the safe maximum in writing for the version you buy.
Cutting assemblyTwo blades; four hammers [1]Superpower describes the blade as heat-treated steel. Ask for the steel grade, expected blade life and sharpening limits.
Wheels13-inch pneumatic [1]For pushing the machine around site. Ask separately about towing, road use and safe working slope.
Net / gross mass77 / 117 kg [1]Labelled N.W./G.W. Check which accessories and packing are in the shipped weight.
Packaging99 × 75 × 65 cm [1]Carton size. The assembled machine and its feed clearance take a different footprint.
Container figure144 pieces per 40-foot high-cube container [1]Catalogue loading figure. Stock, delivery date and landed cost come from the quotation.

Trial with branches like your own

Branch diameter alone leaves out shape, species and how the wood feeds. Superpower publishes no reference species, moisture, test length or output per hour. Bring material that matches your real waste and agree the following with the factory. Our guide to specifying a farm wood chipper explains how branch size and feed material shape a fair comparison between quotes.

Your materialWhat the trial should show
Straight woody branchesRecord species, condition and measured size. Ask Superpower to confirm the agreed feed specification covers them.
Forked or irregular branchesDescribe forks and bends as well as diameter. Ask whether they need cutting down first, and count that time in your estimate.
Leaves mixed with woody wasteThe CPY0130 is sold as a chipper shredder, yet Superpower gives no mix ratio or chip-size data. Ask for a labelled sample and look at the output.
Regular cleanup workState your batch volume and working window. Ask for run time, stoppages and clearing time recorded by an agreed method.

Power supply at your site

A matching voltage is the first step of the electrical check. Ask for the nameplate and the CPY0130 manual showing frequency, phase, rated current, connection and protection. Send Superpower your site supply and cable run, and have a local electrician confirm the installation.

The 2.5 kW rating tells you the motor size, while kilograms per hour and energy cost per batch depend on your material. To compare running costs, you need batch output, measured power use and preparation and clearing time from a trial.

Blades, hammers and servicing

Superpower names two blades and four hammers and describes the blade as heat-treated steel. The intake and discharge chutes come off for storage and routine maintenance. An emergency-stop switch connects through a waterproof connector.

Before planning maintenance, ask for the manual and spare-parts drawings. They should cover power isolation, guarding, fastener torque, blade change intervals and how the emergency stop is wired and tested. Ask Superpower to confirm in writing whether the machine can run with a chute removed.

Ask for blade and hammer part numbers, spare availability, wear limits and the maintenance demonstration at handover. Any special tools or consumables should be listed in the quotation.

Unloading, moving and storing the machine

Superpower gives the wheel size, net and gross weight and carton size. Assembled dimensions and a lifting drawing are not on the page. Plan each stage from delivery to storage. Comparable garden machines from other factories are on our garden and forestry page.

StageWhat to ask for
Receiving the shipmentConfirm the 117 kg gross weight, the packing layout and the approved way to unload and lift the package.
Positioning the machineAssembled dimensions and moving instructions. Ask whether the 13-inch pneumatic wheels allow towing or rough ground.
Operating spaceInlet and discharge layout, required clearances and guarding from the operating manual.
Storage and reassemblySteps and checks for removing and refitting the chutes, the stored size, and parts to keep together.

Recording the factory demonstration

Fix the branch limit first, then agree how the demonstration will be run and recorded. These steps list what to ask for; operate the machine only under Superpower's instructions.

  1. Identify the machine

Record CPY0130, the motor nameplate, cutter parts and the corrected capacity document, and check the trial unit matches the quote.

  2. Agree material and exclusions

List the sample material, any preparation allowed and what must stay out of the machine. Agree who runs the trial.

  3. Measure the output

Note input quantity, elapsed time, preparation and stoppages, plus the agreed output size. Compare a full workload, since a short clip shows only the best minute.

  4. Complete handover

Keep the manual, spare-parts list, maintenance demonstration and written warranty and support terms.

Buyer questions

What is the largest branch the CPY0130 takes?

The feature text says 3 inches and the table says 50 mm. Ask Superpower for one limit for your configuration before any trial or order. [1]

Does 2.5 kW tell me the throughput?

Motor power and processing rate are different things, and no throughput figure is published. Ask for trial results on your own material and workload. [1]

Can I plan the work area from 99 × 75 × 65 cm?

That is the package size. Ask for assembled dimensions and operating clearances. [1]

Is the CPY0130 CE certified?

Superpower's company text says many of its products are CE certified. Ask for the CE declaration naming CPY0130 and the company that issues it. [1]

Manuals and parts support for the CPY0130

Superpower's service page has assembly videos for CP6502, LSP2700, LSP25B, LGS1301, XZ0300 and QD5000. None of them is the CPY0130. Ask for this chipper's own instructions, parts list and written cover.
