Guangchang TGSS, TGSU and TLSS Grain Conveyors

Guangchang builds three horizontal conveyors for grain, feed and other small granular or powder materials. The TGSS enmeshed drag conveyor handles 8–120 t/h with chain speeds of 0.4–0.8 m/s. The TGSU horizontal drag conveyor covers 10–260 t/h on 60, 80 or 100 mm chain pitch. The TLSS screw conveyor handles 2–50 t/h. The drag models offer blockage and broken-chain alarms. None of the sheets lists motor power, so send your route length and material for drive sizing.

TGSS, TGSU and TLSS: how they differ

All three sheets name grain, feed and small granular or powder materials; the screw sheet adds small pieces. Choose the mechanism from your route and product first, then the size. Vertical lifts are a separate job, handled by Guangchang's TDTG bucket elevator.

ConveyorFeatures and what to ask
TGSS enmeshed dragSeveral feed and discharge points, polyurethane scrapers and wear-resistant guide material or polymer wear plates. Give the exact inlet and outlet positions you need.
TGSU horizontal dragSleeve-roller chain, short-pitch sprockets, cleaning plates and packing seals. Ask how much material stays in the trough after a run.
TLSS screwTurning screw flights push material along a horizontal trough. Only capacity is printed; ask for shaft speed, screw diameter and pitch, contact material and motor power.
Your routeFeed and discharge points, length and any rise, the equipment before and after, and the material condition. All three sheets describe horizontal conveying.

TGSS enmeshed drag: capacity and chain speed

The speed row is printed in m/s, although its Chinese heading mentions maximum rotational speed. Read it as chain speed. The sheet does not say what material or route length the capacities assume.

TGSU horizontal drag: chain pitch, speed and groove number

Chain pitch is in mm and line speed in m/s. The J-type groove-number row prints values from 160 to 500 under a kw heading. Ask Guangchang to confirm in writing what these numbers measure and to supply a drawing with correct units.

Model and capacityChain pitch, speed and groove number
TGSU16: 10–25 t/hPitch 60 mm; speed 0.35–0.6 m/s; groove number 160.
TGSU20: 25–30 t/h60 mm; 0.35–0.6 m/s; groove number 200.
TGSU25: 30–45 t/h60 mm; 0.35–0.6 m/s; groove number 250.
TGSU32: 45–80 t/h80 mm; 0.35–0.7 m/s; groove number 320.
TGSU36: 80–120 t/h80 mm; 0.35–0.7 m/s; groove number 360.
TGSU40: 120–150 t/h80 mm; 0.35–0.7 m/s; groove number 400.
TGSU50: 150–260 t/h100 mm; 0.35–0.7 m/s; groove number 500.

TLSS screw conveyor: capacity

The screw section lists capacity only. Speed, screw geometry, power and length come from Guangchang's quote for your duty; the chain figures above belong to the drag conveyors.

TLSS204–10 t/h.
TLSS258–17 t/h.
TLSS3218–34 t/h.
TLSS4030–50 t/h.

Starting, alarms, wear parts and residue

TGSS has a heavy-load starting device and blockage and broken-chain alarms. TGSU also lists blockage and broken-chain alarms and is described as self-cleaning with no residue. The TLSS sheet lists no such features.

Guangchang's featureWhat to confirm
Loaded startWhether the conveyor may start full, the drive selected for that, and the starting instructions for your route.
Blockage and broken-chain alarmHow faults are detected and shown, and whether the alarm stops the conveyor and upstream feed.
Take-up and wear partsTGSS has tail chain tensioning, scrapers and guide or wear plates. Ask for chain details, material grades, and inspection and tensioning instructions.
ResidueHow much material stays in a TGSU after a run or batch change, and the access provided for cleaning.
Supply listA component and control list for the family you order, so it is clear which protection is included.

Sealing, transfer points and dust

Guangchang describes the drag conveyors as well sealed, quiet and easy to maintain. TGSU adds packing seals and access openings. No leakage or noise figures, pressure rating, aspiration duty or hazardous-area certificate is published.

OSHA's technical manual for ethanol plants explains that dust escapes at transfer points when equipment leaks or blocks, and that controls are set facility by facility. Plan dust control for your own plant with that in mind. Matching conveyor rates to the cleaners and elevators around them is covered in our grain cleaning and handling line basics guide.

Ask Guangchang for the inlet, outlet, drive and shaft interfaces, the operating conditions the conveyor is built for, cleaning access, and any aspiration or protection it supplies. Check grain breakage, residue, sealing and power draw as separate points at commissioning.

Route drawing and commissioning

The sheets give no full dimensions, weight, support loads, lifting details or drive curves. Each conveyor is built to a route-specific drawing. Where a route splits, the TBDQ three-way chute diverters from the same catalogue fit into that drawing.

  1. Define the route

Family and model, material and feed rate, length, inlet and discharge positions and destinations. Settle the TGSU groove-number unit before layout.

  2. Get the build drawing

Dimensions, supports, chain or screw, drive, start and alarm behaviour, and service access.

  3. Test on site

Agree tonnage and grain condition at delivery, stoppages, residue at changeover and sealing checks, using a method Guangchang supports.

  4. Keep spare references

Chain, scraper, wear plate or screw references, drive, seals and controls, with Guangchang's instructions and lead times.

Buyer questions

Can the TGSS chain speed tell me the TLSS screw speed?

No. TGSS speed is linear chain speed in m/s, and the screw sheet gives no rotation speed. Ask Guangchang for the screw speed of the size you need. [1] [2]

Are the TGSU groove numbers in millimetres?

The heading prints kw, which does not fit a dimension. Ask Guangchang to confirm the unit and send a drawing. Chain pitch is given separately in mm. [2]

Does the TGSU leave any material behind?

Guangchang describes it as self-cleaning with no residue. If batch carryover matters, agree a cleaning arrangement and a check at commissioning. [2]

What motor does my route need?

No motor or length table is published. Send the route length, rise and material, and Guangchang will size the drive. [1] [2]
