Grain processing
Guangchang TCXT Magnetic Cylinders and TCXP Magnetic Separators
Guangchang makes two permanent-magnet families for pulling iron out of feed, grain and flour streams. The TCXT cylinder comes in five sizes from TCXT15 to TCXT40, rated 10–100 t/h with a field of ≥3500GS. The TCXP magnetic separator comes in three sizes, TCXP30 to TCXP50, rated 5–15 t/h at >2500GS, and it is the only family with a printed removal rate (≥99%) and overall dimensions in mm. Neither needs a motor. Below are the capacity rows, the TCXP outlines, how cleaning works and what to put in a quote request.

Build my procurement briefWhat the magnets remove and where they sit
The TCXP sheet names ferromagnetic impurities as its target. The TCXT sheet describes iron removal from raw-material streams such as feed, grain and flour. Both are iron separators. Stones, non-magnetic metal and other foreign matter call for other cleaning stages. Guangchang covers those with the TQSX and TQSF gravity stoners and, for oversized debris, the TCQY63 drum pre-cleaner.
A historical FAO chapter on fish-feed plants puts a magnet near the loading hopper, so that iron pieces are caught before they reach later machines. That is a sensible general position for an iron-removal stage in any feed or grain line. Our grain cleaning and handling line basics guide places the magnet between the vibrating sieve and the destoner.
When you enquire, describe the material, the kind of iron you expect (bolts, wire, filings) with typical size and shape, where the magnet will go in the line and what the downstream machines can tolerate. Guangchang mentions several industries but publishes no material temperature range, particle-size limit or food-contact certificate, so ask for any of these you need.
Published specifications
Read each value with its stated conditions, and ask the manufacturer for any limit not listed here.
| Specification | Published value | Meaning / limit |
|---|---|---|
| TCXT family | 15, 20, 25, 30 and 40 [1] | Five cylinder sizes on one sheet, each with its own capacity row. |
| TCXP family | 30, 40 and 50 [2] | A separate separator design with its own table. TCXP30 and TCXT30 share a number but differ in form and capacity. |
| Magnetic field | TCXT ≥3500GS; TCXP >2500GS [1] [2] | Guangchang's field ratings. Ask where on the magnet the reading is taken. |
| TCXP removal rate | Ferromagnetic impurity removal ≥99% [2] | Printed for TCXP only, with no feed, particle size or flow stated alongside it. |
| Drive | Permanent magnets; no motive drive stated [1] [2] | No motor or power supply for the magnet itself. Conveying and air handling belong to the rest of the line. |
TCXT and TCXP capacity by model
Capacities are in t/h. The sheets do not say which material or bulk density they assume, so compare models within one family and give Guangchang your own material for a sizing answer.
| Model | Capacity and field |
|---|---|
| TCXT15 | 10–15 t/h; ≥3500GS. |
| TCXT20 | 20–30 t/h; ≥3500GS. |
| TCXT25 | 30–50 t/h; ≥3500GS. |
| TCXT30 | 50–70 t/h; ≥3500GS. |
| TCXT40 | 80–100 t/h; ≥3500GS. |
| TCXP30 | 5–8 t/h; >2500GS; removal ≥99%. |
| TCXP40 | 7–12 t/h; >2500GS; removal ≥99%. |
| TCXP50 | 10–15 t/h; >2500GS; removal ≥99%. |
Field strength, removal rate and materials
TCXT states a field level but no removal rate. TCXP states both. The two families differ in geometry and flow, so a stronger field on paper may or may not catch more iron in your line.
| Published figure | What to ask for |
|---|---|
| Field reading | The measurement point (surface or gap), the instrument and a current reading for the unit you buy. |
| Removal rate | The feed, impurity mix, sampling and calculation behind the TCXP ≥99% figure, or an agreed test on your material. |
| Comparing families | A same-feed comparison if you are choosing between a TCXT cylinder and a TCXP separator. |
| Magnet and body | TCXT is described as rare-earth permanent magnet in stainless construction; TCXP as NdFeB. Ask for the magnet grade, contact-surface finish and any material certificate. |
| Full cleaning line | Neither sheet covers screens or destoners. Specify those stages separately. |
TCXP outline dimensions and TCXT drawings
The TCXP sheet gives overall dimensions in mm. The TCXT sheet gives none, and neither sheet lists weight or connection drawings.
| Model, overall L×W×H | Installation notes |
|---|---|
| TCXP30: 620×360×355 mm | Request inlet and outlet connection details and the installed orientation. |
| TCXP40: 620×460×405 mm | Check space to open the unit for cleaning on your chute layout. |
| TCXP50: 640×560×455 mm | Ask for machine and packed weight and the clearance needed to remove and inspect the magnet. |
| TCXT15–40 | Request an outline drawing in mm with connections for the size you choose. |
| Plant interfaces | Ask Guangchang for the support method, feed distribution upstream and outlet route, plus any pressure, dust-zone or interlock data your plant needs. |
Cleaning the magnet and handling collected iron
TCXT has a cleaning door; Guangchang describes TCXP as easy to maintain. Cleaning is manual on both sheets, with no interval or method printed, so plan the routine with the maker.
Where iron collects
Ask Guangchang to show where the iron is held and how clean product passes the magnet. Neither family has an automatic reject.
Cleaning procedure
Request the cleaning and inspection instructions, the access needed and how the unit is stopped and isolated before the door opens.
Magnet condition
Agree how each magnet is identified and how its strength is checked over time. No service life or remagnetising interval is published.
Spare parts
Keep part references for the magnet, housing, door seal and connections of the unit you buy.
Agreeing an acceptance test
If you need a removal figure for your plant, test the chosen model on your own material. Ask Guangchang for a safe test method suited to the installation.
| Item | What to record |
|---|---|
| Unit | Family and model, magnet and housing, layout and field reading at the time of the test. |
| Test basis | Material and impurity conditions, flow, quantity handled, and the sampling and calculation method. |
| Result | Iron captured and downstream sample results for the agreed task, stated for that test alone. |
| Paperwork | Keep the maker's capacity, field and removal figures alongside your own measured result, and ask for any certificate in writing. |
Buyer questions
Is TCXT30 the same capacity as TCXP30?
No. TCXT30 is rated 50–70 t/h and TCXP30 5–8 t/h. They are different designs that happen to share a number. [1] [2]
Will the ≥3500GS cylinder catch more iron than a TCXP?
Guangchang publishes no same-feed comparison or field measurement method. Ask for a test on your material if the choice matters. [1] [2]
How was the TCXP ≥99% removal rate measured?
The sheet gives the figure without a test method or material. Ask Guangchang to confirm the test basis in writing, or agree a test on your feed. [2]
