Guangchang SKLB Counterflow Coolers
Guangchang builds SKLB counterflow coolers for pellets and other feed in two versions: a conventional cooler with slide-valve discharge and a pendulum cooler with flap discharge and a rotary distributor. Both sheets list the same six sizes, SKLB2.5 to SKLB12, rated 5 to 30 t/h, so the model code alone does not tell you which discharge you get. The pendulum version is also offered for expanded and puffed material. Name the discharge type with the size on your order, and ask Guangchang for the cooling-air volume and pressure, which neither sheet prints.

Build my procurement briefSlide valve or pendulum flaps
Both versions are counterflow coolers. They differ in how product is let out. Because the size table is shared, the quotation needs the discharge type spelled out.
| Feature on the sheet | What to put on the quotation |
|---|---|
| Conventional cooler | Slide-valve discharge, described as smooth and reliable. Ask for the discharge rate range, how retention time is set and any breakage data. |
| Pendulum cooler | Rotary distributor and pendulum flaps driven pneumatically or hydraulically, with adjustable discharge speed. Ask which drive is supplied. |
| Materials | The pendulum sheet lists granular, flake, lump and expanded or puffed bulk material. Ask for the rated tonnage for your material's density and shape. |
| Order identity | Model plus discharge and distributor type, your feed and the current drawing. Match photos to the version you are buying. |
Published specifications
Read each value with its stated conditions, and ask the manufacturer for any limit not listed here.
| Specification | Published value | Meaning / limit |
|---|---|---|
| Models | SKLB2.5, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 [1] [2] | The same codes appear on both the slide-valve and pendulum sheets. Add the discharge type to the code when ordering. |
| Nominal capacity | 5 / 10 / 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 t/h [1] [2] | In model order. Ask for the material density, inlet temperature and moisture, and target outlet condition behind each figure. |
| Discharge types | Slide valve / pendulum flaps [1] [2] | The pendulum build adds a rotary distributor and pneumatic or hydraulic flap control. Confirm which utilities come with it. |
| Outlet temperature | Conventional sheet: room temperature +3–5 degrees [1] | Stated for the slide-valve cooler. Ask for the test conditions and the ambient range it applies to. |
| Cooling air | No aspiration volume, static pressure or fan duty supplied [1] [2] | Request air volume, pressure and fan size for your feed; the motor ratings cover the cooler's own drives. |
Six sizes: capacity and motor ratings
Both versions share these figures. The sheets do not say which component each motor drives, so ask Guangchang to assign them before you plan the electrical supply.
| Model and capacity | Motor ratings on both sheets |
|---|---|
| SKLB2.5: 5 t/h | 0.75+1.5 kW. |
| SKLB4: 10 t/h | 0.75+1.5 kW. |
| SKLB6: 15 t/h | 0.75+1.5 kW. |
| SKLB8: 20 t/h | 0.75+1.5+1.1 kW. |
| SKLB10: 25 t/h | 0.75+1.5+1.1 kW. |
| SKLB12: 30 t/h | 0.75+1.5+1.1 kW. |
| Capacity basis | Give Guangchang your inlet temperature and moisture, particle size and density, ambient conditions and target outlet state. Ask for the residence time at the quoted rate. |
Outlet temperature and moisture are two targets
The conventional sheet says cooled particles leave no warmer than room temperature plus 3–5 degrees. It gives no test method or operating conditions. The pendulum sheet prints no temperature figure, so ask Guangchang for one if you choose that version.
An FAO chapter on fish-feed production explains why both targets matter. Pellets leave the mill warm, wet and soft, and cooling air carries off heat and moisture together. That is general process background rather than SKLB data, but it shows why a cool pellet can still be too wet to store.
In a trial with Guangchang, agree the inlet material and how ambient temperature is measured. Then record outlet temperature against ambient, final moisture and pellet integrity together. Check how even the cooling is and how many fines or broken pellets come out.
Distribution, retention and flap control
Guangchang links the pendulum cooler's rotary distributor to more even loading, and says discharge speed can be adjusted. Neither sheet gives distributor speed, bed depth, control steps, discharge cycle or measured uniformity.
| Question | What to ask Guangchang for |
|---|---|
| Material distribution | The distributor design and how material flows through the bed. Ask for a temperature map if even cooling matters to you. |
| Discharge and retention | How throughput and discharge setting give the retention time your material needs. |
| Pneumatic or hydraulic drive | Air or oil pressure and flow needed, and whether a compressor or hydraulic power pack is included. |
| Stop and restart | What happens on feed loss or air or power failure, where the flaps rest, and how the cooler restarts full. |
| Fragile products | For expanded or puffed feed, agree the share of whole product and fines you accept, and ask how the cooler limits crushing. |
Cooling air and installation data to request
Neither sheet gives cooling-air volume, pressure loss, fan size, chamber volume, overall dimensions, machine weight or support loads. You need all of them to connect a cooler to a pellet line. Exhaust air from the cooler can be taken to Guangchang's TBLM and TBLMA pulse bag filters for the dust side.
Air duty
Air volume and pressure for your feed, ambient and target outlet state, plus fan, duct and filter sizing and measuring points.
Electrics and actuation
Which component each motor drives, supply and starting current, fan load and the flap or distributor utilities.
Material connections
A dimensioned drawing with inlet and discharge openings, and the limits of the feeder above and conveyor below.
Access and support
Inspection and cleaning access, machine weight, support and lifting points, and access to valve, flaps and distributor. Ask for part life and service response.
Trial record and spare parts
Tie the quoted tonnage to a cooling result on a named build. Cooled pellets can move on through the TGSS, TGSU and TLSS grain conveyors, whose sheets name feed, or up to a bin on the TDTG bucket elevator. If you compare the two versions, run them on the same feed and conditions.
| Item | What to record |
|---|---|
| Run setup | Model, discharge and distributor type, feed rate, inlet temperature and moisture, ambient conditions and Guangchang's settings. |
| Results | Tonnage, outlet and ambient temperatures, moisture, whole product and fines, and stoppages. Note where and how samples were taken. |
| Extra figures | If you need cooling uniformity, energy use, dust emissions or shelf life, ask Guangchang to state them in writing. |
| Spares | Part numbers for valve or flaps, distributor, seals and controls, and current maintenance instructions for your version. |
Buyer questions
Does the SKLB code tell me the discharge type?
No. Both sheets use the same six codes. State slide valve or pendulum flaps on the order. [1] [2]
Does the room temperature plus 3–5 degrees figure apply to the pendulum cooler?
It is printed on the conventional sheet only, without a test method. Ask Guangchang for a figure for the pendulum version. [1] [2]
