Yaofeng YFTP30 Dirty-Water Pump
The Yaofeng YFTP30 is a 3-inch engine-driven pump for water that carries debris. Yaofeng's English table gives a maximum flow of 1300 L/min (78 cubic metres/hour), 26 m head, 8 m suction and 42 kg, driven by a 6.5 HP air-cooled four-stroke engine. The catalogue photo shows it on a wheeled frame. The Chinese page prints a different flow figure. Before ordering, ask Yaofeng which solids it can pass, for a duty curve, and for the exact engine fitted.

Build my procurement briefWhich flow figure to use
The English YFTP30 page gives 1300 L/min and 78 cubic metres/hour. 1300 × 60 ÷ 1000 = 78, so those units agree. The Chinese page gives the same 1300 L/min but brackets 36 cubic metres/hour, which would equal 600 L/min. Quote from the English figure.
The English figure is a catalogue maximum. It does not tell you the flow at 26 m head. Ask Yaofeng for the current YFTP30 curve and a dated hydraulic sheet naming the pump end, impeller, engine and test conditions. Match that sheet to the quotation and to the sample.
Published specifications
Read each value with its stated conditions, and ask the manufacturer for any limit not listed here.
| Specification | Published value | Meaning / limit |
|---|---|---|
| Model / use | YFTP30 / water containing debris [1] | Yaofeng gives no particle size, solids passage, viscosity, temperature or chemical limits. Describe your water when you enquire. |
| Ports | 3 inches [1] | Ask for the connection standard, thread, bore and which hose fittings come with the pump. |
| Head | 26 m [1] | No curve links this head to a flow. Ask for the flow at your operating head. |
| Maximum suction | 8 m [1] | Given without test conditions or liquid properties. Ask for the suction limit for your installation. |
| Maximum flow | English: 1300 L/min (78 cubic metres/hour); Chinese: 1300 L/min (36 cubic metres/hour) [1] [4] | The English pair converts correctly; the Chinese bracket does not. Neither page includes a duty curve. |
| Engine | 6.5 HP; single-cylinder, four-stroke, OHV, air-cooled; manual start [1] | No engine model, rating condition or emissions family is given. Ask for them on the quotation. |
| Catalogue photo | Framed pump with wheels; engine housing label shows 163 cc [2] | Check the engine nameplate on the pump you receive against this label. |
| Net weight | 42 kg [1] | Yaofeng does not say whether fuel, fittings or accessories are included. |
Debris: tell Yaofeng what is in your water
Yaofeng sells the YFTP30 for dirty water, which sets it apart from a clean-water pump. The page stops there. Describe your water and debris to Yaofeng and get the limits back in writing. Yaofeng sells the YFHP20 high-pressure pump for a different job, and our guide to choosing a petrol engine water pump explains when a trash pump is the better choice over a clean-water or high-pressure one.
| Question | What to ask for |
|---|---|
| Particles and fibres | Largest solid that passes, the particle types allowed, and limits on fibrous or abrasive material. |
| Water properties | Allowed water temperature and any limits for contaminated or chemically treated water. |
| Intake | The strainer and suction assembly needed, the connection parts supplied, and the model manual. |
| Wear and cleaning | Impeller, seal and other service parts, and Yaofeng's inspection and cleaning instructions. |

Sizing the pump to your site
The 26 m head and 1300 L/min maximum are two separate end points. Your real flow depends on your discharge conditions. Send Yaofeng the flow you need, the heights, pipe length and diameter, fittings and discharge layout. Ask which point on the curve meets that need with the offered engine and pump end.
The 8 m suction figure comes without a test setup. Ask for the installation limits and starting procedure in the model manual. Tell Yaofeng how far your water level rises and falls, and send your suction layout for comment. Agree in writing whether the pump will prime at your actual lift. Suction hose vacuum and friction loss in the delivery line both move that duty point, as our guide to specifying irrigation hose and pipe shows.
Engine, frame and wheels
The catalogue image shows a wheeled frame and an engine housing marked 163 cc. The text gives a 6.5 HP engine with no model or displacement. Ask Yaofeng to state the engine and the frame on the quotation.
| Item | What to confirm |
|---|---|
| Engine | Engine model, nameplate, rated conditions, and its operating and service manuals. |
| Moving the pump | Whether wheels, handle and frame come in the quoted package, plus any lifting points and the dimensions. |
| Service access | How the pump opens for inspection and cleaning, and Yaofeng's service instructions. |
Buyer questions
What flow does the YFTP30 give?
The English table lists 1300 L/min (78 cubic metres/hour) as maximum flow. The Chinese page brackets 36 cubic metres/hour. Ask for the curve to see the flow at your head. [1] [4]
Can the YFTP30 handle any dirty water?
Yaofeng does not publish solids passage or liquid limits. Describe your water and ask for the limits in writing. [1]
Is the engine 163 cc?
The catalogue photo shows a 163 cc label. Ask Yaofeng to confirm the engine model and nameplate for the pump you order. [2]
Is the YFTP30 covered by Yaofeng's 2012 pump certificate?
That sheet lists models in an annex that is not shown. Ask for the annex and for current documents naming the YFTP30. [3]
Certificates for the pump
Yaofeng's site links a water-pump verification sheet dated November 2012. It names Yaofeng and gasoline-engine water pumps, and refers to an annex for model names and ratings. That annex is not shown, so the sheet alone does not say whether the YFTP30 is covered.
Ask for a current, legible document set that names the engine and the complete pump, with every annex it refers to. Make sure it covers the country you are shipping to.

Sample test and delivered parts
A sample should prove the pump meets your duty, beyond just starting the engine. Agree what will be measured and which parts make up the accepted pump. Other engine pumps for farm water are listed in our irrigation section.
Fix the data
Confirm the English flow figure in writing and settle the Chinese difference. Get the model curve and liquid limits.
Set up the test
Agree a flow and head point, Yaofeng's approved setup, water like yours, and how results are recorded.
List the package
Engine and pump identities, intake and discharge fittings, wheels and frame, strainer and other accessories.
Close service and shipping
Wear parts, service manuals, packing, what the weight includes, and written warranty and support.
