Yaofeng YFHP20 High-Pressure Water Pump
The Yaofeng YFHP20 is a 2-inch high-pressure petrol water pump on a frame. Yaofeng's English table lists 65 m total head, a maximum flow of 500 L/min (30 cubic metres/hour), 8 m suction and 28 kg, with a 6.5 HP air-cooled four-stroke engine and recoil start. It suits jobs that need lift and pressure more than volume. Head and flow are separate maxima, so ask Yaofeng for the flow at your system head, the connection drawings and the exact engine before you order.

Build my procurement briefYFHP20 or YFTP30: head, volume or debris
Yaofeng's two engine pumps share the same size of engine but do different jobs. Choose by the task, then by horsepower. For water carrying debris, the YFTP30 dirty-water pump is the other half of that pair.
| Model | Best fit and what to ask |
|---|---|
| YFHP20 | 65 m head, 500 L/min maximum flow, 2-inch ports. Ask for the flow at your required head and the liquid limits. |
| YFTP30 | Dirty-water pump: 26 m head, 1300 L/min maximum flow, 3-inch ports. Ask for its debris limits. |
| Choosing | Head and flow on each page are separate maxima. Decide from a hydraulic schedule for your duty, your water and the connection package. |
Published specifications
Read each value with its stated conditions, and ask the manufacturer for any limit not listed here.
| Specification | Published value | Meaning / limit |
|---|---|---|
| Model / use | YFHP20 / high pressure [1] | Yaofeng gives no specific irrigation device, firefighting approval or pressure-washer use. Ask before buying for those jobs. |
| Ports | 2 inches [1] | A nominal size. Ask for actual inlet and outlet dimensions, the connection standard and the adaptors supplied. |
| Total head | 65 m [1] | No flow is given at this head and no curve is published. |
| Maximum flow (English table) | 500 L/min (30 cubic metres/hour) [1] | The units agree. Expect less than 500 L/min as head rises; ask for the curve. |
| Maximum flow (Chinese table) | 500 L/min (36 cubic metres/hour), as printed [2] | The bracket does not match the English table or normal conversion. Ask Yaofeng to confirm the figure on a dated schedule. |
| Maximum suction | 8 m [1] | Given without test conditions. Ask for the suction limit for your installation. |
| Engine / start | 6.5 HP; single-cylinder four-stroke OHV, air-cooled; recoil start [1] | Ask for the engine model and its continuous-duty rating conditions. |
| Weight | 28 kg [1] | The English page does not say whether fuel or accessories are included. |
| Catalogue photo | Framed machine with red pump housing and YFHP20-marked yellow engine tank [3] | Helps identify the model. Pressure limits and pipe connections need drawings from Yaofeng. |
Specifying the pressure job
Yaofeng calls the YFHP20 a high-pressure pump. To size it, state the flow you need, the discharge condition, heights, pipe sizes and lengths, fittings and any sprinklers or other devices downstream. Ask Yaofeng to mark that duty on the current YFHP20 curve for the offered engine and pump end. Also ask for the minimum operating flow, the continuous-duty limit and a pressure rating for the full hose and fitting assembly. Our guide to choosing a petrol engine water pump walks through total head and pump curves, and the irrigation pages group other engine pumps for sprinkler work.
Sprinkler coverage, network compatibility and emergency use all depend on more than the head figure. If your job follows an application standard or test procedure, name it in your enquiry and ask for records for this model.

Pipe connections and water limits
A nominal 2-inch port is not enough to order matching suction and delivery hoses. Working against burst pressure for those hoses is explained in our guide to specifying irrigation hose and pipe. The catalogue photo shows a framed pump; thread, flange and fitting ratings need drawings.
| Item | What to ask for |
|---|---|
| Inlet and discharge | Drawings of both connections, the sealing method, actual fitting sizes and the adaptor list. |
| Suction side | Required hose, strainer and setup limits, with the model manual. |
| Delivery side | Hose or pipe and fittings rated for your duty, confirmed as one package. |
| Water limits | Allowed temperature, particle size and water quality. For dirty water, Yaofeng offers the YFTP30. |
Flow figure: English versus Chinese table
In the English table, 500 L/min equals 30 cubic metres/hour: 500 × 60 ÷ 1000 = 30. The Chinese page pairs 500 L/min with 36 cubic metres/hour. The pump has one flow rating, and the Chinese bracket is a printing difference. Quote from the English figure and ask Yaofeng which dated schedule governs your order, together with the missing curve.
Engine, weight and operating instructions
Yaofeng lists a 6.5 HP four-stroke, air-cooled OHV engine with recoil start, and the catalogue photo shows YFHP20 and engine-power markings. Fuel-tank size, oil schedule, engine model and rating conditions are missing. Ask for the engine nameplate, its operating and service manuals, and the pump's allowed operating conditions.
The 28 kg figure is a starting point for shipping. Ask for the dimensions, what the weight includes, and which frame, hose, fittings and service items come with the pump. Start-up, pressure control and dry-running rules should come from Yaofeng's current model manual.
Buyer questions
Will the YFHP20 deliver 500 L/min at 65 m head?
Yaofeng lists both as separate maxima. Ask for the curve to see the actual flow at your required head. [1]
Is 36 cubic metres/hour a second flow setting?
Yaofeng describes no settings. The Chinese bracket does not match 500 L/min; the English table's 30 cubic metres/hour does. [1] [2]
Can the YFHP20 replace the YFTP30 for dirty water?
The two pumps have different uses and hydraulic figures. Ask Yaofeng for liquid and solids limits for the model you pick. [1] [4]
Which certificates cover the YFHP20?
The 2012 pump sheet on Yaofeng's site lists models in an annex that is not shown. Ask for the annex and current documents naming the YFHP20. [5]
Certificates and the acceptance test
Yaofeng's 2012 gasoline water-pump verification refers to an annex for models and ratings. The sheet shown does not list the YFHP20 itself. Ask for the full current documents along with the duty schedule.
Technical data
YFHP20 version, exact engine and pump identities, dated curve, allowed liquid and operating range.
Connections and package
Model drawings, every suction and discharge part with its rating, and an included-parts list.
Documents
Legible current scope and every annex referred to, naming the pump you are buying.
Acceptance test
Agree the operating point, Yaofeng's approved test setup and the delivered configuration, then spares and written warranty and support.
