Turbo Self-Propelled Walk-Behind Line Trimmer
Turbo's self-propelled walk-behind trimmer cuts with a 4.0 mm string on a line head over a 22-inch, 560 mm swath. It runs on a TB1P70FA 173 cc OHV engine with recoil start, 10-inch wheels and a metal deck, and folds for storage. Turbo's website gives a 30–75 mm cutting height while its catalogue gives 35–75 mm, so ask which applies to your build. For grass along farm lanes and orchard access, this page covers the route, the line and head, the walking controls, clearance and the fold and pack sizes.

Build my procurement briefWhat grass work it suits
This is a wheeled string trimmer for grass, separate from metal-blade brushcutters and soil tools. The 560 mm swath describes one pass; dense stems, close work around plants and area per hour depend on your site. For lawn jobs beyond trimming, the same Turbo range includes a gasoline scarifier and TBE corded mowers.
| Route question | What Turbo gives |
|---|---|
| Grass and verge route | Describe the vegetation, obstacles and finish you want. Ask the largest woody stem and tallest growth it handles. |
| Pass width | 22-inch/560 mm nominal width. Real coverage depends on overlap, walking conditions, line wear and stops. |
| Clearance along rows | The swath is narrower than the body and wheels. Ask for the assembled size and how close it can work to crop and tree bases. |
| Output | Agree a demonstration with Turbo on your route and finish. Turbo gives no fuel use, throughput or mowing speed. |
Published specifications
Read each value with its stated conditions, and ask the manufacturer for any limit not listed here.
| Specification | Published value | Meaning / limit |
|---|---|---|
| Machine and engine | Self-propelled walk-behind trimmer; engine TB1P70FA, 173 cc [1] [2] [3] | TB1P70FA is the engine model. The machine itself has no separate model code. |
| Engine and starting | OHV, 4-stroke, air-cooled; recoil starting [2] [3] | Ask for rated power, head speed and travel speeds. |
| Cutting line and swath | 4.0 mm string; 22-inch/560 mm width [2] [3] [6] | Nominal figures. Ask which line material and profile are approved and the head limits. |
| Cutting height | Website 30–75 mm; catalogue 35–75 mm [2] [3] | The two sources give different minimums. Ask Turbo for the height settings of the build you order. |
| Drive and wheels | Self-propelled; 10-inch wheels; metal deck [2] [3] | Ask for travel speed, drive ratio, slope limit, braking and the ground it is meant for. |
| Working and folded spans | Unfolded 145 cm horizontal/110 cm vertical; folded 85 cm/55 cm [5] | Side-view spans from Turbo's diagram. Ask for full width and the folded storage size. |
| Packing and order quantity | 26 kg gross; 77×49×53 cm carton; 360 pcs MOQ(40HQ) [2] [3] | Packed figures, separate from net mass and the folded size. Get pack contents and quantity terms on the quotation. |
The 4 mm line and the cutting head
Turbo gives 4.0 mm string diameter, and the underside photo shows the line head. Material, profile, loading length and head part number all matter alongside diameter.
| Component | What to get for repeat trimming |
|---|---|
| Approved string | The line material and profile Turbo allows, with current head instructions, before buying bulk 4 mm line. |
| Loading and refills | The loading method, line length and how much line comes with the machine. |
| Head and drive parts | Part numbers for the head, retainer and drive, the thread or fitting drawing, and the head speed limit. |
| Other attachments | Turbo approves no metal blade for this machine. Keep to the line head unless Turbo approves an alternative in writing. |
Self-propelled controls and engine
Turbo's table names TB1P70FA as the engine model, at 173 cc. The machine has no code of its own, so put the machine description, the engine and the agreed configuration on the enquiry.
The catalogue mentions a throttle that sets walking speed and a self-propelled drive. It gives no travel speeds, drive ratio, direction choices or stopping and disengagement behaviour, so ask for the operating manual for the drive and handle controls on your build. Starting is by recoil; if you want electric start, ask for it by name.
The catalogue shows several engine covers as options and marks a hand-pushed model as coming soon. Ask what your quote includes, the power rating for each cover option, and when the hand-pushed version will ship.
Minimum cutting height: 30 mm or 35 mm
The website graphic gives a 30–75 mm cutting height and the current catalogue gives 35–75 mm, with the same engine and swath. If the lowest cut matters for your finish, ask Turbo to confirm in writing the height positions of the build you order.
The underside illustration shows a cover protecting the chassis components. Ask what debris protection it gives, the safe distance for bystanders, any water or dust rating, and the guarding instructions for the bumper and cover.
Folded size, carton and storage
Turbo's diagrams show the trimmer at 145 by 110 cm unfolded and 85 by 55 cm folded, seen from the side. The carton is 77×49×53 cm. Ask whether parts are removed for packing to reach that carton size. Wheeled trimmers and mowers from other suppliers are listed on our garden and forestry page.
| Turbo figure | What to settle for storage or freight |
|---|---|
| Working position | 145 cm horizontal and 110 cm vertical in side view. Ask for full width and operating clearances. |
| Folded position | 85 cm by 55 cm in side view. Ask for locking, moving and storage instructions. |
| Up to 50% storage saving | Turbo's own wording. Ask what it is measured against before planning shelf or vehicle space. |
| Carton and gross mass | 77×49×53 cm and 26 kg gross. Ask for net mass, pack contents and any assembly steps. |
| Order and loading | 360 pcs under MOQ(40HQ). Get the minimum, loading plan, availability and delivery date for your configuration. |
Buyer questions
Is TB1P70FA the trimmer's model number?
No. Turbo labels it the engine model. The trimmer has no separate code. [1] [2] [3]
Is the minimum cutting height 30 mm or 35 mm?
The website says 30 mm and the catalogue 35 mm. Ask Turbo to confirm the settings of your build in writing. [2] [3]
Can I use any 4 mm line?
Turbo gives only the diameter. Ask which material and profile it approves for this head. [2] [4]
Is there a hand-pushed version?
The catalogue marks one as coming soon. Ask Turbo about availability and specification. [3]
