Sunyoung 6CWD-11 Single-Layer Tea Withering Module
Sunyoung builds a single-layer leaf-spreading and withering module for fresh tea. Troughs are fed by a mobile conveyor running on a rail with an electrical slide, and a discharge conveyor and integrated controls pass the leaf on. The brochure example, 6CWD-11, has 11 m² of spreading area on a 1150 mm mesh belt inside an 11500 × 1380 × 1000 mm envelope. The current web page adds automatic weighing with a 0.2–0.3% error and an air-speed spread of no more than 0.5 m/s. No hourly output is published, so quote by trough count, loading route, weighing package and how leaf leaves the trough.

Build my procurement briefWhat a single-layer withering line is made of
Sunyoung sells more than the trough. The web page names a mobile feeder, rail, electrical slide, troughs, discharge conveyor and controls. The brochure's composition row pairs "several" 6CWD-11 troughs with belt conveyors or elevators and control and power cabinets, without a fixed count. Work through the line in this order when you ask for a price.
Trough arrangement
Name the current model you want, how many troughs, and the total spreading area of that arrangement.
Mobile loading
Get the rail and electrical-slide layout for your building, with the travel path and the access the feeder needs.
Spreading and weighing
Ask how leaf is laid into each trough and which weighing hardware is part of the build.
Discharge
Get the discharge sequence, the hand-off to your next machine and the control signal between them.
6CWD-11 area, footprint and power
Leaf area and machine footprint differ. From the listed envelope, 11.500 × 1.380 gives 15.87 m² of bare plan area for one machine, against 11 m² of spreading area. The feeder route, conveyors and service space come on top of that. Where floor space is tight, compare Sunyoung's 6CWD-20/50/100 multi-layer circulating tea withering module.
| Brochure figure | How to use it |
|---|---|
| 11 m² spreading area | The area that carries leaf. Ask for the spread depth and leaf mass Sunyoung designs it for. |
| 1150 mm mesh belt | Belt width of the reference trough. Full trough construction and output come with the quote. |
| 11500 × 1380 × 1000 mm | One machine's envelope. More troughs and ancillaries change the room you need. |
| 0.55 kW motor; 3+15 kW fan/heating | Per-machine entries. Ask for a full electrical schedule covering every trough and shared equipment. |

Automatic weighing and the 0.2–0.3% figure
Sunyoung's web page says a main trough weighs the leaf automatically, with an error of only 0.2–0.3%. The brochure puts it differently: the module can be designed with automatic weighing so the operator can follow weight loss during withering.
So weighing is something to specify. Ask Sunyoung to state in writing whether your build includes it, the load range, how it is calibrated, and whether the percentage is of the reading or of full scale. Weight loss tells you how much water has left the leaf; the point at which leaf is ready for the next step is a separate setting you agree for your tea.
Air distribution across the trough
Air-distribution plates and an air chamber spread the air, according to Sunyoung, so that wind speed at the front, back, left and right differs by no more than 0.5 m/s. That figure is a speed in metres per second. It describes evenness, and fan volume is a different number.
No measuring points, leaf load or fan setting go with the figure. If even withering matters for your tea, agree a loaded trial on the trough arrangement you are buying: set the air and heat as Sunyoung advises, spread representative leaf, and check leaf condition at agreed points across the bed.
Published specifications
Read each value with its stated conditions, and ask the manufacturer for any limit not listed here.
| Specification | Published value | Meaning / limit |
|---|---|---|
| Brochure reference model | 6CWD-11 [1] [2] | The single-layer example in the brochure. The web entry describes the module without a model name, so ask which build the quote covers. |
| Spreading area / mesh-belt width | 11 m² / 1150 mm [2] | Leaf-supporting area and belt width of the 6CWD-11. Plant floor space and leaf load per square metre are separate questions. |
| Overall envelope | 11500 × 1380 × 1000 mm [2] | Size of the brochure model alone. Extra troughs, the rail, the mobile feeder and walkways add to it. |
| Motor power | 0.55 kW [2] | The brochure's motor entry for the 6CWD-11. |
| Fan + heating power | 3 + 15 kW [2] | Printed as two terms in one column: fan, then heating. |
| Module make-up (web page) | Mobile feed conveyor, running rail, electrical slide, main troughs, discharge conveyor and integrated controls [1] | The functional list Sunyoung gives today. Quantities come with the quoted layout. |
| Weighing error (web page) | 0.2–0.3% [1] [2] | Sunyoung quotes this for the main trough's automatic weighing. The brochure calls weighing a design option. |
| Air-speed difference (web page) | No more than 0.5 m/s front to back and side to side [1] | A velocity spread across the trough, credited to air-distribution plates and an air chamber. Total fan volume is not given. |
| Hourly output / leaf load | Not specified [1] [2] | Ask Sunyoung for kg/h and kg/m² for your leaf. |
Deciding when leaf moves to the next process
The web page describes photoelectric positioning, leaf-flow detection and automatic control of when leaf enters the next process. The brochure talks about judging the degree of withering from weight loss. Neither gives a sensor layout, control logic or a release threshold, so settle these points in the order. Withering opens the sequence in our tea processing machinery guide by stage.
| Point to settle | What to ask Sunyoung for |
|---|---|
| Reading weight loss | How tare, incoming load and change are handled, and the criterion that fits your tea. |
| Release decision | Whether leaf is released on a time, a weight-loss figure or an inspection, and who sets it. |
| Sensors and positioning | A description of the photoelectric parts, the operating sequence and the link to your downstream machine. |
| Stopped flow | What the module does when feeding stops or the next machine cannot take leaf. |
| Records | What the controls display and store for each lot: settings, weights and results. |
Buyer questions
How many kilograms of leaf does 11 m² hold?
Sunyoung does not publish a leaf depth, density or load per square metre. Ask for the design load and hourly capacity for your leaf. [2]
Does every single-layer module come with automatic weighing?
The web page describes it; the brochure calls it a design option. Ask Sunyoung to confirm in writing whether your quote includes it and on what basis the 0.2–0.3% is stated. [1] [2]
Is 0.5 m/s the fan's airflow?
No. It is the largest difference in air speed between points on the trough. Fan volume is not listed. [1]
Room layout, power and service access
Sunyoung's photographs show spreading troughs with fan assemblies and a mobile feeder on its rail. They give a feel for the equipment; your quote needs its own drawing.
Ask for a site layout that places the troughs, track, electrical slide, conveyors, control cabinet and maintenance space in your room. Request the full electrical schedule, the room conditions the module is built for, and the cleaning and operating instructions for the build you order. Contact materials, leaf depth and heating temperature are not published, so ask for them too. The machines that take the leaf on after withering are grouped on our tea processing page.
