Remo RM-BC Gasoline Brush Cutters
Remo's gasoline brush-cutter range has nine RM-BC models: C and H versions at four engine sizes (RM-BC260, 330, 430 and 520) plus the RM-BC411F. All use a two-stroke, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine, from 25.4 cc and 0.75 kW up to 51.7 cc and 1.6 kW, with fuel tanks of 510, 850 or 1000 ml. Each C and H pair shares its engine figures. Choose by the clearing job, then ask Remo for the approved cutting head, guard and harness for the exact model you order.

Build my procurement briefRM-BC engine sizes side by side
Each C and H pair prints the same engine figures on its own page. Remo does not give the speed at which rated power is measured. Ask what else differs within a pair: shaft, handle, harness, cutting head or included accessories. For wood too thick for a brush cutter, Remo also lists the RM-CS3800H petrol chainsaw.
| Models | Displacement, rated output and fuel tank |
|---|---|
| RM-BC260C / RM-BC260H | 25.4 cc; 0.75 kW; 510 ml. The C page also gives engine model 1E34F. |
| RM-BC330C / RM-BC330H | 32.6 cc; 1.0 kW; 1000 ml. |
| RM-BC430C / RM-BC430H | 42.7 cc; 1.2 kW; 1000 ml. |
| RM-BC520C / RM-BC520H | 51.7 cc; 1.6 kW; 1000 ml. The largest engine in the range. |
| RM-BC411F | 40.2 cc; 1.4 kW; 850 ml. A separate model; ask Remo what the F stands for. |
Published specifications
Read each value with its stated conditions, and ask the manufacturer for any limit not listed here.
| Specification | Published value | Meaning / limit |
|---|---|---|
| Models | RM-BC260/330/430/520 C and H; RM-BC411F [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] | Nine catalogue entries. Remo does not explain the C and H suffixes, so ask what differs between them. |
| Engine type | Two-stroke, air-cooled, single cylinder [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] | Same description on every entry. Ask for the engine model and manual that ship with your units. |
| Idling speed | 3000 r/min on all nine entries [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] | Engine idle. Remo lists no maximum engine speed or cutter-head speed. |
| Engine model code | 1E34F, printed on RM-BC260C [1] | Only the 260C page gives an engine code. Ask Remo for the code fitted to the 260H and the other models. |
| Fuel system | 1:25 oil/gasoline label; 510, 850 or 1000 ml tank rows [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] | Catalogue mix ratio and tank sizes. Use the manual for your engine to confirm the oil and mix. |
Cutting heads and guards
Remo's photographs show complete machines with shaft, handle and head fitted. The nine pages list no cutting-tool part numbers, mounting sizes, guard pairings or attachment chart. The 430C image file is also named for the 520C, so ask Remo whether those two share any parts.
The UK HSE issued a brush-cutter safety alert on 12 November 2013 about non-standard linked-metal attachments, such as chain flails. It warns that parts can break and be thrown, tells users to fit only the cutting tool and guard combinations the machine maker approves, and notes that a CE mark on an attachment is not enough to show it is safe on a given machine.
Ask Remo for its current tool, guard and harness chart and instructions for the exact model and the vegetation you will cut. Fit blades, metal heads and guards only from that chart, whatever the engine size.
Idle speed, fuel and engine identity
Every entry gives 3000 r/min as the idling speed and prints a 1:25 oil/gasoline mix. The photographs do not show a readable engine plate, so get the engine identity and matching instructions with your order.
| Catalogue figure | How to use it |
|---|---|
| 3000 r/min idle | Idle only. Ask for maximum engine speed, gear ratio and head speed if you compare models on cutting speed. |
| 0.75–1.6 kW engine rows | Engine output. Stem size and attachment choice come from Remo's approved configuration for each model. |
| 510 / 850 / 1000 ml fuel capacity | Tank volume. Ask for fuel consumption if you need run time per fill. |
| 1:25 catalogue mixture label | Mix and oil type should follow the current manual for the engine fitted to your units. |
| 1E34F on RM-BC260C only | Keep the engine code, service manual and parts list with the 260C. Ask Remo for the 260H engine code separately. |
Choosing a model for the clearing job
Compare models on the same vegetation with the head and guard Remo approves. A two-stroke machine from another maker worth putting through the same test is the Jingjiu BC328 Two-stroke Brush Cutter. Remo publishes no weights, noise or vibration declarations, or field trials for these models, so request them for the ones you shortlist. Brush cutters from other factories can be compared on our garden and forestry page.
Describe the job
Vegetation type and condition, terrain and access, and the finish you need. Ask which model and approved tool Remo recommends.
Name the complete machine
RM-BC code, engine plate and manual, shaft, handle, harness, cutting tool and guard. Get the C or H difference in writing.
Compare on equal terms
Test under conditions agreed with Remo and collect weight, handling and performance documents for each build.
Keep the order record
Accessory and part codes, box contents, acceptance results and service terms. Reorder by full model code and configuration.
Buyer questions
Are the C and H models the same at each engine size?
Their engine figures match. Remo does not explain the suffixes, so ask what differs and whether parts interchange, and order by the full model code. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8]
Is 3000 r/min the cutting-head speed?
Remo labels it as idling speed. Ask for head speed, gear ratio and rated engine speed. [1] [4] [9]
