RAIN LING RL-VQ Quick-Coupling Valves
RAIN LING's quick-coupling valves give you a keyed water outlet on an irrigation main, for hand watering, testing or maintenance. Insert the matching key and the internal seal opens; remove it and the valve closes. Three kit types are listed in DN20 (3/4-inch) and DN25 (1-inch): brass two-piece sets (RL-VQ75S, RL-VQ100S), plastic four-piece sets (RL-VQ75, RL-VQ100) and plastic three-piece A sets (RL-VQ75A, RL-VQ100A). All six rows list 2–8 bar working pressure. Check what each kit contains, order body and key as a matched pair, and ask for flow data at your service point.

Build my procurement briefWhat each kit includes
All three groups are key-operated access valves. The kit descriptions say what is in the box. RAIN LING's installation photos also show hoses, spray guns and adapters, so order any of those as separate lines.
| Code group | Parts and material |
|---|---|
| RL-VQ75S / RL-VQ100S | Two-piece brass (copper-alloy) set: valve body and key rod, 3/4-inch DN20 or 1-inch DN25. No elbow, hose or nozzle listed. |
| RL-VQ75 / RL-VQ100 | Four-piece PP plastic set: body, key rod, elbow and connector, DN20 or DN25. Ask what hose fitting the connector takes. |
| RL-VQ75A / RL-VQ100A | Three-piece set: body, water key and fixing plate. The rows say plastic; the general page says PP. No elbow in this kit. |
Matching key and body
RAIN LING says the seal opens only with the corresponding key; the plastic version uses a spring-loaded internal seal. So body and key codes belong on the order together. The 3/4-inch or 1-inch pipe size tells you about the main-line connection, while key engagement, locking shape and seals are set by the key design.
The plastic photos show a capped body and a removable key, and the A kit adds a fixing plate. The brass photos show different caps and handles. Keep the body, key and spare-part codes together so replacements match.
Request drawings of the main-line connection, key profile, upper outlet and any adapter threads, plus how the body should be fixed or supported. RAIN LING says water can be drawn without shutting the main; ask for the maintenance procedure for the valve itself.
Pressure unit and marked dimensions
Both specification tables give 2–8 bar. The plastic description says 2–8kg with an approximate psi range. Use the bar figure from the tables and ask RAIN LING to confirm it in writing.
The plastic gallery marks 25/36/58 mm on one top view and 32/43/67 mm on another. These help you recognise the parts in the photo. The 25 mm mark is a measured mouth, separate from the DN25 size, so ask for a proper thread and key drawing before you design around it.
Also ask for allowed hose-pull and mounting loads, the pressure loss for each code, and temperature and media limits.
Published specifications
Read each value with its stated conditions, and ask the manufacturer for any limit not listed here.
| Specification | Published value | Meaning / limit |
|---|---|---|
| Brass sizes and codes | RL-VQ75S: 3/4-inch (DN20); RL-VQ100S: 1-inch (DN25) [1] [6] | Two-piece body and key sets in brass (copper alloy). Ask for the alloy grade if your water or contract requires it. |
| Plastic sizes and kits | RL-VQ75 / 100 four-piece; RL-VQ75A / 100A three-piece [2] [3] [4] | DN20 and DN25 in each kit family. The A suffix changes the parts in the box. |
| Working pressure | 2–8 bar for all six listed rows [1] [2] | From the specification tables. The plastic description writes 2–8kg with a psi figure; ask RAIN LING to confirm the unit in writing. |
| How it opens | Corresponding key rod/coupler opens the internal seal; closed without the matching key [1] [2] | Body and key work as a pair. Order them together, and check fit before mixing with other brands or older bodies. |
| Data to request | Per-code pressure loss and flow, temperature and media limits, seal materials [1] [2] [7] | Not listed for these valves. Ask for them for the code you install. |
Flow at the service point
RAIN LING presents these valves for hand watering, testing and maintenance water. Put the flow and pressure your hose or tool needs in the enquiry, and say whether irrigation zones will be running at the same time. If those zones run on RAIN LING's EVA/EVD solenoid valves, give their flows in the same enquiry. The 2–8 bar rating gives the pressure range; flow through a key, elbow and connector comes from a separate test.
UF/IFAS explains that elevation and friction in flowing pipes change the pressure available along an irrigation system. Estimate the pressure at the service point itself, with water moving, before choosing a hose or nozzle. Working pressure, burst pressure and friction loss for that hose are set out in our guide to specifying irrigation hose and pipe.
Ask RAIN LING for the pressure loss of the assembled body, key and accessories at your required flow, and for the connection and support details.
Order checklist and spares
RAIN LING says the brass version is mechanically more durable than plastic, and both pages list a three-year warranty. Choose material for your site conditions, and get the warranty terms in writing. Buyers who want lines emptied at shutdown can add the automatic drain valve to the same order.

Buyer questions
Does the A kit include an elbow and connector?
No. The A kit lists body, water key and fixing plate. The four-piece kit adds an elbow and connector. [2] [3] [4]
Will any DN20 key fit an existing DN20 body?
Pipe size does not set the key shape or seals. Ask RAIN LING to confirm fit for the exact body and key pair. [1] [2] [5] [6]
Are the brass valves pure copper?
RAIN LING lists them as brass, a copper alloy. Ask for the alloy grade if you need it. [1]
