RAIN LING EVA/EVD Solenoid Valves

RAIN LING makes EVA (AC) and EVD (DC) irrigation solenoid valves in sizes from one inch up to four inches. The AC coil runs on 24 V AC at 50/60 Hz; the DC coil on DC12 V with a 9–15 V range and a pulse condition. Published working limits are 0.5–8 bar and up to 60°C, and the two-inch panel gives 5–100 m³/h. Bodies are glass-filled nylon with EPDM diaphragms and a manual flow knob. Two RAIN LING sources give different AC coil currents, so pin the coil revision, controller load and the size-specific pressure loss before ordering.

Build my procurement brief

Choosing the coil

RAIN LING spreads its coil data over AC and DC product pages, one-inch graphics and a two-inch title. Order the body, coil and controller output as one matched set and ask RAIN LING to name all three on the quotation.

Where RAIN LING lists itWhat it gives and what to ask
AC page: 24 V±10%, 50/60 Hz0.28 A opening and 0.15 A holding.
EVA100 graphic: 24 V±10%, 50/60 Hz0.30 A opening and 0.18 A holding. Ask which coil and revision your offer uses, and size your controller on the higher figures until you know.
DC page: 12 V, 9–15 V rangeThe general DC offer. Ask for the pulse, polarity and current your controller output must match.
EVD100 graphic: DC12 V±10% (9–15 V)Adds a pulse width under 100MS. Ask RAIN LING to state the exact voltage window and the pulse your controller should send.
EVD20024 optionNamed in the Chinese title. Ask for its electrical specification and what the suffix means.

Inrush current and controller output

On the EVA100 graphic a coil draws 0.30 A to open and 0.18 A to stay open. When you size a controller, count how many coils start together and how many stay open, plus any master valve. A station count alone tells you nothing about load.

RAIN LING's RL-CA08 controller lists a 24 V AC, 1 A output, without saying whether that is per station or in total. Four coils starting together at 0.30 A would add up to 1.20 A. Ask RAIN LING how many EVA valves the controller may open at once, and test that combination. The same question applies if you pair the valves with the RL-CA13 / RL-CA16 modular controllers or the RL-CJ100 decoder controller.

For DC valves, the pulse condition on the EVD100 graphic governs, so match it to the controller's DC output. Get the wiring and polarity instruction in writing; lead colours in the photos are for identification only.

Flow range and sizing a zone valve

The Chinese panel on the two-inch entry gives 0.5–8 bar, 5–100 m³/h and water up to 60°C. The one-inch EVA100 and EVD100 graphics also show 0.5–8 bar and ≤60°C. These are family figures, and 100 m³/h is the top of the range across all sizes.

To size a zone valve, you need the zone flow, the pressure upstream, the pressure your emitters need downstream, and the valve's pressure loss at that flow. Pipe diameter and friction loss upstream change that inlet pressure, and our notes on specifying irrigation hose and pipe cover both. Ask RAIN LING for the loss curve of the size you choose, and for a drawing showing end threads, pilot and overall length.

The manual knob adjusts flow. If you need a steady downstream pressure, ask whether RAIN LING offers a pressure-regulating version, and what the external pressure-sensor option connects to.

Diaphragm, pilot filter and service access

RAIN LING describes a glass-filled nylon body, an EPDM diaphragm and a washable filter on the pilot water line. Ask for the service procedure and the filtration your field water needs.

Feature RAIN LING describesWhat to ask for
Diaphragm and sealsThe material grade and a chemical-compatibility table for your water and treatment products.
Washable pilot filterIts mesh size, and the main-line filtration RAIN LING recommends upstream of the valve.
Manual switch and flow knobThe current operating instructions for your configuration.
External pressure sensorThe sensor model, signal, range and connection kit for this option.
Installed sizeA body and coil outline, mounting orientation and service clearance, with the valve box size it fits.

Water hammer, certificates and warranty

RAIN LING says its valves open gradually to reduce water hammer. UF/IFAS explains that surge depends on how fast water velocity changes and how quickly valves close, in the context of each pipe and flow system. Ask RAIN LING for the opening and closing times, and check surge for your own zone switching and pipeline. RAIN LING's air-release valves can be quoted for the same pipeline at that stage.

The product pages mention CE, ISO9001 and a three-year warranty. Ask for the declaration of conformity for your configuration, the certificate with its scope and validity, and the warranty contract terms.

RAIN LING's application photos show farm and garden use. For your order, keep the code, drawing, electrical and hydraulic data and the commercial documents together.

Buyer questions

Which AC coil current should I design for?

The webpage gives 0.28/0.15 A and the EVA100 graphic 0.30/0.18 A, opening/holding. Ask which applies to your coil revision; plan on the higher pair until RAIN LING confirms. [1] [3]

Does the DC valve work like the AC valve?

No. The EVD100 graphic adds a pulse-width condition. Ask for the pulse, current and polarity your controller must provide. [1] [2] [3] [4]

Can a 1 A controller open four valves together?

Four EVA100 coils at 0.30 A opening come to 1.20 A. Ask RAIN LING whether the RL-CA08 output is per station or total and how many valves it may start at once. [3] [8]

Does the manual knob regulate downstream pressure?

It adjusts flow and allows manual opening. Ask about a pressure-regulating version if you need constant downstream pressure. [1] [2] [7]

Are the valves CE and ISO9001 certified?

RAIN LING's pages say so and offer a three-year warranty. Ask for the declaration, certificate scope and warranty terms in writing for your order. [1] [2]
