JOYWAY JW-DR630 Petrol Earth Drill
The JW-DR630 is the larger of JOYWAY's petrol earth drills. Its 63 cc two-stroke engine (reference 1E48F) is listed at 1900 W, with a 1200 mL tank and recoil start. Auger options run from 100 to 300 mm, one size beyond the DR520's 250 mm, and net weight is 14.0 kg. JOYWAY publishes engine data only: no bit torque, bit speed, drilling depth or ground test. Choose it by the hole you need, then get the gearbox, shaft fitting and soil limits for that bit in writing.

Build my procurement briefChoosing the 300 mm auger
The DR630 list tops out at 300 mm, while the DR520 list ends at 250 mm. That matters if your posts or planting holes need the larger size. JOYWAY gives no figures for how fast either drill cuts in a given soil, and no link between diameter, torque and feed.
Tell JOYWAY the hole diameter and depth, the soil layers and any stones or roots. Ask which bit and operating limits it recommends for that job. Maximum depth depends on bit length, extensions and shaft engagement, so request those for the bit you pick.
DR630 and DR520 side by side
Two separate catalogue entries. The figures help you pick which model to quote. Drilling speed and handling still need a trial. If neither suits the job, the JW-GD520 is a third JOYWAY petrol earth drill to put on the shortlist.
| Field | DR630 compared with DR520 |
|---|---|
| Displacement and power | 63 cc / 1900 W against 52 cc / 1700 W. Neither entry gives bit torque or a soil test. |
| Largest auger | 300 mm against 250 mm. Ask which bits fit and which come in the box. |
| Fuel tank | 1200 mL against 1100 mL. Fuel use and drilling time are not listed. |
| Net / gross weight | 14 / 15 kg against 13 / 14 kg. Box contents are not stated. |
| Engine speeds | Both list 3200 rpm idle and 8000 rpm maximum. Gear ratio and bit speed are missing from both. |
Published specifications
Read each value with its stated conditions, and ask the manufacturer for any limit not listed here.
| Specification | Published value | Meaning / limit |
|---|---|---|
| Drill / engine reference | JW-DR630 / 1E48F [1] | Separate entries for drill and engine. Check both plates on the offered machine. |
| Displacement / power | 63 cc / 1900 W [1] | No duty conditions or rating at the bit are given. |
| Idle / maximum speed | 3200 rpm / 8000 rpm [1] | Engine speeds. Auger speed depends on the gear ratio, which is not listed. |
| Auger sizes | 100 / 150 / 200 / 250 / 300 mm [1] | Catalogue diameters. Which bits are included, the shaft fitting and depth come from JOYWAY on request. |
| Fuel tank | 1200 mL [1] | Fuel use and run time are not given. |
| Engine type | Single-cylinder, two-stroke, air-cooled [1] | Match fuel and operation to the engine manual for the build you receive. |
| Oil ratio | 25:1, as printed [1] | JOYWAY's table value. Check it against the engine manual before mixing fuel. |
| Start / ignition / carburettor | Recoil / C.D.I / diaphragm type [1] | Part numbers, cold-start steps and altitude limits are not listed. |
| Net / gross weight | 14.0 kg / 15.0 kg [1] | The table does not say which bit or accessories are in the box. |
| Catalogue photo | Powerhead and auger assembly [3] | Shows the general layout. Bit size and box contents go on the quotation. |
Gearbox and auger shaft
The key mechanical link is between the 1E48F powerhead and the bit you choose. Ask JOYWAY for the gear ratio, how output speed and torque are rated, the shaft diameter and shape, the fixing method and compatible bit part numbers. The photo of a fitted auger shows none of these dimensions.
Also ask what coupling or clutch is fitted, whether there is reverse, a torque limiter or stall protection, and for the service instructions. With a parts list for this model, you can order accessories and replacements with confidence.
Operators and a field trial
A 14 kg net weight leaves open how many people should hold the drill and how it reacts when the auger hits a root or stone. Ask for the manual, the handle and control layout, and JOYWAY's operating limits before planning a test. Machines for planting and woodland jobs are gathered in our garden and forestry pages.
Run the trial with the bit you plan to buy in ground like your site, not on easy soil. Record hole size, time, stoppages, spoil and any stop conditions JOYWAY sets. The result tells you how this build handles your job; other soils will need their own check.
The RLD:DZ08 page in JOYWAY's flipbook
JOYWAY's online flipbook has a ground-drill page for a model named RLD:DZ08, with a different engine code and displacement. That page also carries flow and suction fields that belong to a pump. Its figures are kept off the DR630 specification here.
The flipbook page shows generic GS, EMC and CE icons. Ask JOYWAY for dated certificates that name the holder, the JW-DR630 and its engine build for your market. Which papers each market expects for petrol garden machinery is set out in our handheld garden tools import guide, split by EU, UK and US.
Buyer questions
Is 8000 rpm the speed of the 300 mm bit?
No. That is engine speed from the table. Bit speed and gear ratio are not listed. [1]
Does every DR630 come with a 300 mm auger?
The table lists sizes but not box contents. Name the bits you want, with their fittings, on the quotation. [1]
Can I use the RLD:DZ08 flipbook figures for the DR630?
They describe a different model with a different engine. Ask JOYWAY for DR630 data directly. [1] [4]
How long does a 1200 mL tank last?
JOYWAY gives no fuel consumption, so run time is unknown. Ask for it under your soil conditions. [1]
