HOREY BMR Orbital Motors
HOREY's BMR is a shaft-distribution orbital motor with a roller-insert 6/7-tooth rotor/stator. The webpage lists ten sizes from BMR36 to BMR375, with actual displacement from 36 to 381.4 cm³/rev. The rating depends on the shaft. A BMR250 with a 25 mm keyed shaft is rated at 300 N·m, while the same size with a spline or taper shaft is rated at 360 N·m. This page sets out the tables by shaft type, the catalogue curves, the BMR and BMRS shaft, flange and port options, the seal and side-load conditions, and what to send for a quote.

Build my procurement briefBMR torque and pressure by shaft type
HOREY prints a separate table for each shaft group, and every torque goes with its own pressure drop. The larger sizes show the difference most clearly. Maximum speed and maximum pressure are never to be combined in one operating point. Comparing against HOREY's BMM and BMS orbital motors works the same way: pick one named table per series and read torque with its pressure drop.
| Size / actual displacement | Webpage ratings for each shaft group |
|---|---|
| BMR160 / 157.2 cm³/rev | 25/25.4 mm keyed: 300 N·m at 13 MPa rated; maximum 300 N·m / 13 MPa. 25.4 mm spline / 28.56 mm taper: 320 N·m at 14 MPa rated; maximum 360 N·m / 16.5 MPa. |
| BMR200 / 194.5 cm³/rev | 25/25.4 mm keyed: 300 N·m at 11 MPa rated; maximum 300 N·m / 11 MPa. 25.4 mm spline / 28.56 mm taper: 330 N·m at 12 MPa rated; maximum 360 N·m / 13 MPa. |
| BMR250 / 253.3 cm³/rev | 25/25.4 mm keyed: 300 N·m at 8 MPa rated; maximum 300 N·m / 8 MPa. 25.4 mm spline / 28.56 mm taper: 360 N·m at 10 MPa rated; maximum 360 N·m / 10 MPa. |
| BMR315 / 317.5 cm³/rev | 25/25.4 mm keyed: 300 N·m at 7 MPa rated; maximum 300 N·m / 7 MPa. 25.4 mm spline / 28.56 mm taper: 360 N·m at 8.5 MPa rated; maximum 360 N·m / 8.5 MPa. |

Differences between the webpage and the catalogue
Large-shaft table: the third webpage table, for 31.75/32 mm shafts, is headed BMP while its rows read BMR/BMRS. The catalogue's second BMR table labels the same larger shafts BMR.
Shaft grouping: the first catalogue table puts 25/25.4 mm keyed, 25.4 mm spline and 28.56 mm taper shafts in one group, where the webpage splits keyed from spline/taper. Values differ too. BMR250 is rated at 352 N·m in the catalogue, against 300 N·m keyed and 360 N·m spline/taper on the webpage.
BMR50 flow: the webpage gives 675 rpm at 35 L/min rated and 775 rpm at 40 L/min maximum. The catalogue gives 750 rpm at 40 L/min rated and 960 rpm at 50 L/min continuous.
The figures in your order should all come from one table that HOREY names for the build you buy.
Published specifications
Read each value with its stated conditions, and ask the manufacturer for any limit not listed here.
| Specification | Published value | Meaning / limit |
|---|---|---|
| Nominal codes / actual displacement | 36–375 / 36–381.4 cm³/rev across ten listed sizes [1] [2] | Sizes 36, 50, 80, 100, 125, 160, 200, 250, 315 and 375. The page footer says 36–400, but no 400 column is printed. |
| Keyed-shaft table (webpage) | 25 / 25.4 mm keyed shafts; rated torque 72–300 N·m by size [1] | Applies to keyed shafts only. Spline and taper shafts have their own table. |
| Spline/taper table (webpage) | 25.4 mm spline / 28.56 mm taper; rated torque 100–360 N·m by size [1] | The same displacement code carries higher torque and pressure entries here than in the keyed table. |
| Inlet / outlet pressure (webpage) | 14 MPa rated / 17.5 MPa maximum, outlet figure given with drain connection [1] [2] | Separate from the working pressure drop. Seal pressure has its own graph in the catalogue. |
| Interfaces in the catalogue | BMR/BMRS shaft drawings; H2/H6/H4/H5 BMRS flange references; several main and drain port options [2] | Order by full option code with its interface drawing. HOREY lists the BMR against the OMR. |
Reading the BMR80 curve
Printed page 24 shows torque in regular type above speed in bold. White cells are continuous duty; shaded cells are intermittent. Read both outputs from the same cell.
| BMR80 catalogue point | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| 30 L/min, 14 MPa: 152 N·m and 302 rpm | A continuous-duty cell. Quote flow, pressure, torque and speed together. |
| 75 L/min, 14 MPa: 135 N·m and 830 rpm | A shaded intermittent cell. For continuous work at that torque, select a lower-speed point. |
| Intermittent and peak | Intermittent means up to six seconds per minute and peak up to 0.6 seconds per minute. A full working shift runs on the continuous figures. |
| Drive or travel | Tell HOREY whether the motor drives a mechanism or a travel circuit. The store lists BMR-type parts for sugarcane harvester travel and rotation; send the harvester details to match a configuration. |
Shaft drawings, flanges and port codes
The catalogue has separate BMR and BMRS shaft drawings and order-code tables. Give the series with every shaft letter or diameter. HOREY's other components, and parts from other makers, are grouped in the parts category on this site.
| Catalogue detail | What to specify |
|---|---|
| BMR shaft A key size | The shaft drawing shows 25 mm with an 8×7×32 key; the order table lists A with a 7×7×32 key. Name the key size on your order. |
| BMR C and BMRS shafts | BMR C is a 25.4 mm keyed shaft. BMRS has its own keyed, pin-hole, spline and taper forms. Match engagement and fixing details, not just diameter. |
| 31.75 / 32 mm shafts | The catalogue shows separate keyed, spline and taper forms with different keys and lengths. Pick the exact form for your coupling. |
| BMRS flanges | H2/H6 are diamond flanges and H4/H5 square flanges, each with its own pilot, hole and thread dimensions. Match the face to the host drawing. |
| Main ports and drain | Port options include G, UNF O-ring, NPTF, PT(RC), metric and flange ports. Specify the A/B and drain T thread, depth and circuit layout. |
Seal pressure, side loads and rotation
The catalogue's seal page plots shaft-seal pressure against speed for each shaft group. Without an external drain, the seal sees slightly more than return-line pressure; with a drain fitted, it sees drain-line pressure. The webpage's 14/17.5 MPa outlet figure is given with a drain connection.
The same page plots allowable radial load against speed and load distance, again by shaft group. A wheel, sprocket or belt pulley on the shaft adds load that the torque rating does not cover. Send the load path and the distance from the mounting face so HOREY can check the bearing. If the motor is meant to drive a winch drum, ask whether the HOREY 1000 series hydraulic winch suits the job as a complete unit.
Standard rotation is defined looking at the shaft end with pressure on the named port. BMR and BMRS sketches show the ports in different places. Put the port layout and rotation code on the order, and install and commission to the current instructions for that build.
Buyer questions
What torque is a BMR250 rated for?
On the webpage, 300 N·m at 8 MPa with a keyed shaft and 360 N·m at 10 MPa with a spline or taper shaft. The catalogue gives 352 N·m for its grouped shafts. [1] [2]
Is the 31.75/32 mm table for BMR or BMP?
The webpage heading says BMP and its rows say BMR/BMRS; the catalogue labels those shafts BMR. Ask HOREY to confirm in writing which series and table apply, together with the key size for shaft A. [1] [2]
Will a 25.4 mm BMR replace an OMR directly?
Check key, spline or pin details and engagement, then flange, ports, drain, duty and side loads, against the OMR drawing. HOREY's OMR reference is a comparison name. [1] [2]
Is the BMR80 point of 830 rpm at 135 N·m continuous?
No. At 75 L/min and 14 MPa the cell is shaded intermittent, which allows up to six seconds per minute. [2]
