Hausys 15 m Donut-Blister Trimmer Line
Hausys sells trimmer line in many cross-sections, colours and pack types. For its 15 m donut blister it publishes six diameters, 1.30 to 3.00 mm, each with an inch value and a part number for every profile group. A separate graphic ranks profiles by cutting and sound percentages. To order, pick a profile, diameter and part number from the table, then check that your head and machine accept that line. This page lists the codes, the pack bases and the questions to settle before buying.

Build my procurement briefChoose a profile, then a colour
The shape chart shows each cross-section and some internal constructions. A colour strip shows 14 colours without colour codes, material grades or a use key. Durability, material and machine fit come from the profile and construction you order; colour is a separate choice.
| Profile shown | What to ask Hausys |
|---|---|
| Round and polygon shapes | Round, square, star, hexagon, heptagon and trigon are labelled. Ask for the diameter tolerance and material of the shape you pick. |
| Twist and ellipse | Square twist and ellipse are drawn; the sound chart calls its ellipse entry ellipse twist. Ask which profile and construction you will actually receive. |
| Dual-power | Drawn with a core and outer layer. Ask for core material, layer build and the order code that goes with it. |
| Steel line | Shown as a construction drawing. Ask for a material certificate and written approval for your machine, and order it separately from nylon line. |
Diameters in the 15 m donut blister
These six sizes come from the 15 m donut-blister table. It prints 1.65 and 2.65 mm, while a fair list shows 1.6 and 2.7; order by the table value and code. Metric and inch figures are nominal, so ask for the permitted diameter range.
| Metric diameter | Inch value and pack |
|---|---|
| 1.30 mm | 0.050 in; 15 m per pack. |
| 1.65 mm | 0.065 in; 15 m per pack. |
| 2.00 mm | 0.08 in; 15 m per pack. |
| 2.40 mm | 0.095 in; 15 m per pack. |
| 2.65 mm | 0.105 in; 15 m per pack. |
| 3.00 mm | 0.120 in; 15 m per pack. |
Part numbers by profile and diameter
The table gives 36 part numbers: six diameters in six profile groups. Three headings pair a single and a dual version, Round/DouRound, Square/DouSquare and Star/DouStar, under one code list. If you want the dual version, ask Hausys which code to order.

Reading the cutting and sound graphic
The graphic ranks profiles in percentages, with no test method, machine, diameter, line build, setting or task stated. It gives no cutting rate and no absolute sound level. Use it to shortlist profiles, then compare them in your own trial. For the trimmers and brush cutters that will carry this line, our import notes on handheld petrol and battery garden tools set out what to specify.
| Hausys comparison | How to use it |
|---|---|
| Cutting percentages | Round 100%, star 110%, heptagon 115%, square 120%. The measured quantity is not named, so test the profiles on your machine and material. |
| Sound graphic | Round 100%, square 105%, ellipse twist 82%, square twist 87%, under a dB(A) heading. Ask Hausys how sound was measured and for absolute levels before quoting any reduction. |
| Your own trial | Run the approved machine and head with the offered diameter and construction on your normal task, and record settings and criteria. Note cutting output, line use and sound separately. |
| Colour and batch | No colour-to-performance key is given. Confirm the sample, formulation and diameter sheet so a different colour batch performs the same. |
Published specifications
Read each value with its stated conditions, and ask the manufacturer for any limit not listed here.
| Specification | Published value | Meaning / limit |

Length, spool weight and pack quantity
The pack is named 15 m donut blister, and its part-number table repeats 15 m. Net weight, carton count and minimum order are not given. In your request, state profile, diameter, part number, construction and length, and ask for the packing breakdown.
The wider line category also lists precut line, 15 m card packs and spools sold by weight, labelled 1 lb/0.45 kg, 3 lb/1.35 kg, 5 lb/2.25 kg and 10 lb/4.5 kg. These are pack labels. Line length on a spool depends on the line, so ask Hausys for metres per spool for your diameter and profile, and judge cutting time in use.
For retail or bulk orders, say whether the quantity counts line only or the whole pack, and agree the delivered quantity and labels. Ask Hausys separately for custom artwork, carton contents, minimum order and lead time. Line from other suppliers can be weighed up in the garden and forestry category.
Head fit, samples and repeat orders
Hausys says the range suits most leading trimmers and brushcutters. Each profile and diameter still has to match your head and machine. Hausys's own DL-1201 double-line bump-feed head is one head to run the trial in. Work through these steps.
Head and machine limits
Ask for the permitted diameter, shape and construction, and the feed, loading and operating limits for your equipment. A brand name or an empty spool tells you neither.
Sample
Record profile, construction, colour or sample reference, diameter and pack basis. Agree checks that match your work, including line feeding.
Diameter and material sheet
Request the diameter tolerance and the material and construction sheet. Shape drawings and steel or dual-power labels need certificates behind them.
Repeat delivery
Keep the approved line and pack reference and agree how substitutions or changes are notified. Get delivery and remedy terms in writing, and ask for cutting-life data if you need it.
Buyer questions
Does the square line's 120% mean 20% more cutting?
The graphic names no measured quantity, test conditions or machine. Compare square against round in a trial on your own machine. [2]
Does ellipse 82% mean 18% less noise?
The bars sit under a dB(A) sound heading with no method or absolute values. Ask Hausys for the measurement before relying on a figure. [2]
Should I order 1.65 mm as 1.6 mm, or 2.65 mm as 2.7 mm?
Order 1.65 or 2.65 mm with the part number from the 15 m table, and ask Hausys for the tolerance. [4]
Do the dual versions have their own part numbers?
The table groups single and dual versions under one heading and one code list. Ask Hausys which code to order for the dual construction. [4]
How many metres are on a weighed spool?
Hausys gives no density or metres-per-kilogram figure. Ask for line length per spool for your diameter and profile. [5]
