Turbo TB85TR1 Reverse Tiller

The Turbo TB85TR1 is a reverse-gear tiller with a horizontal LB170F engine of 212 cc and recoil starting. Turbo offers it with 360, 600 or 800 mm tilling width, six blade groups and a maximum tilling depth range of 100–250 mm. Cage wheels, single- and double-sided ploughs, a potato plough and a resistance rod are sold as options. When you order, fix the width, the control behaviour in reverse and the optional tools as one written configuration, because the catalogue pictures show several set-ups.

Build my procurement brief

Choose the bed width and the cutter set

The three widths are customisation choices for one model. What you actually buy is a cutter arrangement, so name it on the order.

Width optionWhat to ask for
360 mmThe narrow cutter and disc layout and the assembled clearance for your beds and access paths. Ask which blade groups are removed for this width.
600 mmThe matching guard and disc layout. The tilling swath is narrower than the overall machine, so ask for both.
800 mmThe wider assembly and its operating conditions, and any area-per-hour or load figures Turbo can share for your soil.
Changing widthTurbo mentions swappable blades and customisable models. Ask for the assembly and replacement instructions and the parts list for each width.

Published specifications

Read each value with its stated conditions, and ask the manufacturer for any limit not listed here.

SpecificationPublished valueMeaning / limit

Tilling width360/600/800 mm, customisable [2] [3] [4]Three width choices. Ask how one width is changed to another and what parts come in the kit.
DepthMaximum tilling depth 100–250 mm [2] [3]Turbo's range, given without soil or pass conditions. Real depth depends on your bed.
Blades and wheels6 blade groups; 340 mm blade diameter; 6-inch front wheels [2] [3]Ask which blade groups make up each width, whether the wheels are driven, and which cutter set is supplied.
Brake row“Brake System”: “Belt & Chain” [2] [3]The table's wording as printed. Ask Turbo what this row describes and how the machine stops.

Reverse gear and controls

The catalogue highlights a reverse gearbox and forward/back selection. Before planning headland turns or work around beds, get the operating manual, travel and tine speeds and a description of the drive and controls. If you are still choosing between rotation types, Turbo also offers a rear-tine tiller and a six-group petrol rotary tiller in the same range.

What Turbo showsWhat to ask Turbo for
Direction selectionWhat the selector changes in the drivetrain and how the controls are meant to be used, including whether the tines stay engaged in reverse.
Travel and cuttingWhether the wheels are powered or the tines pull the machine, with speed values. The 6-inch front wheels are a size, not a drive description.
Stopping and disengagementStop and disengagement instructions and how the controls behave. The table's “Brake System: Belt & Chain” wording needs explaining.
Engine and tine speed3600 rpm is the engine speed. Ask for gear ratio, tine speed and tine direction for each setting.

Depth control in your soil

The catalogue shows an adjustable depth stake and gives a maximum tilling depth range of 100–250 mm. It does not say in what soil, over how many passes, or how depth was measured. Expect less in compacted, wet or already worked ground.

For a demonstration, describe the bed, the tilled layer you need, stones or residue, and the width you are buying. Run the machine to Turbo's current instructions and record the finish, depth and stoppages under those conditions. The 212 cc engine size alone tells you little about penetration or work rate.

Furrowing or potato work calls for a different cutter or implement set-up. Turbo gives no crop trial or soil recommendation for those jobs, so agree the configuration and the expected result for each task separately.

Optional implements

Turbo's graphic labels these items as optional. The catalogue shows the same tool types next to a differently pictured tine set. No mounting dimensions or kit list tie each tool to each width.

Optional itemWhat to ask before ordering
Cage wheelsThe axle fitting and wheel set for your task, with diameter, load and traction figures.
Double-sided and single-sided ploughsWhich plough fits your configuration, its mounting, and furrow width and depth.
Potato ploughCrop and soil it suits. Ask for any digging-loss or throughput figures and plan a field trial.
Resistance rodThe part number and how it works with the depth stake. Order it separately if you need it.
Standard deliveryA written list of standard cutters, discs, wheels and tools, and which optional items are in your carton.

Engine rating, packing and repeat orders

The model table names the LB170F and prints 4.8 kW(6 HP), with 3600 rpm in a separate engine-speed row. No rating standard or continuous shaft figure is given, so quote both units as printed and ask Turbo for tine output if you need it.

  1. Engine documents

Get the engine identity, instructions and emissions and machine conformity documents for the exact build offered.

  2. Mass and carton

50 kg is gross mass and 62×38×69 cm is the carton. Ask for net mass, packing set-up and assembled size.

  3. Order quantity

The graphic shows 399 pcs under MOQ(40HQ). Get the minimum, container plan, chosen width and attachments and delivery terms on the quotation.

  4. Spare parts

Record the agreed cutter, drive and engine set-up and its wear parts, with part numbers, stock and response times.

Buyer questions

Are 360, 600 and 800 mm three different models?

They are width choices for the TB85TR1. Ask Turbo which arrangement it will supply and how one width is converted to another. [2] [3] [4]

Is 3600 rpm the tine speed?

No. The table labels it engine speed. Ask for tine speed and gearing. [2] [3]

What does “Belt & Chain” under Brake System mean?

Turbo prints it without explanation. Ask how the machine stops and disengages, and what the belt and chain do. [2] [3]

Do the ploughs and cage wheels come with the tiller?

Turbo lists them as optional. Ask for the delivery list and the fitting for each item you order. [5]

Will it reach 250 mm in my soil?

The 100–250 mm range comes without soil or pass conditions. Test your configuration on your own bed. [2] [3]
