Turbo Rear-Tine Tiller

Turbo's rear-tine tiller carries its tines behind a wheeled engine frame and works a 483 mm strip. The current catalogue lists twelve steel tines of 350 mm diameter turning at 190 rpm, a 212 cc four-stroke OHV engine, and a 203 mm depth with 41 mm adjustment steps. The machine measures 149 × 50 × 126 cm and ships in a much smaller carton. There is no model code, so quote against the catalogue entry. Start with the bed and access, then the drive and controls, wear parts and packing.

Tilled strip and machine clearance

Turbo gives a 483 mm tilling width and a 50 cm machine width. Even when the strip you need matches the swath, the 149 cm length and wider body decide access and turning.

Bed or access questionWhat Turbo lists
Tilled strip483 mm tilling width. Overlap, finish and final bed width depend on how you work; Turbo gives no area-per-hour figure.
Machine clearanceLength 149 cm, width 50 cm, height 126 cm. Ask for the handle and control positions that matter at gates, row ends and in transport.
Rear cutting assemblyThe photograph shows the tines behind the engine and wheels. Ask for tine rotation direction, whether it counter-rotates, and the travel and tine gearing.
Soil and resultDescribe the current bed and the tilled layer you need, and ask how the machine handles hard ground and stones.

Depth settings: 203 mm and 41 mm steps

The catalogue mentions an adjustable depth stake and a side flap with a height lock. It shows no setting diagram, so get the positions from Turbo. To compare tine layouts before ordering, the same factory also builds a six-group petrol rotary tiller.

Catalogue detailWhat to ask
203 mm depthThe soil moisture, prior preparation and number of passes behind this figure. One pass may not reach it in every bed.
41 mm incrementsThe starting position and the full list of settings.
Depth stake and side flapInstructions explaining what each part does and its working positions.
Layer achievedIn a demonstration with Turbo's support, record the set-up, soil and the tilled layer reached, next to the catalogue depth.

Tine speed, drive and handle controls

The catalogue gives 190 rpm as tine speed and names no engine speed for this machine. The 3600 rpm figure belongs to the TB85TR1. The rear-tine description mentions worm gears and belt drive, with no diagram, ratio, gear count or travel speeds. Ask how the controls govern wheel travel, tine engagement and direction.

A close-up labels the handle controls and a secure locker. Ask Turbo what the locker does, whether the machine stops automatically when the handle is released, and for the operating, disengagement and stopping instructions for the quoted machine.

Area per hour depends on travel setting, overlap, soil and stoppages as well as tine speed. If Turbo demonstrates output, record the route and the finished result.

Tines, drive and engine service

The assembly has twelve steel tines of 350 mm diameter. Turbo gives no cutter grade, part drawing or wear interval, and lists engine displacement and service fields without the engine model. Collect these before you plan maintenance. Walk-behind cultivators from other makers are grouped on our tillage page.

  1. Cutting parts

Get the tine part numbers, layout and replacement instructions, and order spare tines by part number.

  2. Drive maintenance

Ask for belt and gear documents for the quoted build: lubricant schedule, belt reference and adjustment procedure.

  3. Engine

212 cc OHV with 3.1 L fuel, 500 ml oil and 10W-30 are catalogue entries. Service from the current engine manual and ask for the power rating.

  4. Changed configuration

Turbo offers customisation. Write any engine, cutter or control change into the agreed specification so spares match the machine delivered.

Carton, mass and delivery

The 112×53×49 cm carton is much lower than the 149×50×126 cm machine. The page does not say which parts are folded or removed for packing, so ask for the pack list.

Catalogue figureWhat to settle for shipping and site moves
Assembled and packedThe pack configuration, assembly steps, tools needed and documents in the box.
72 kg grossGross mass with packaging. Ask for net mass, lifting points and how to move the machine.
220 pcs MOQ(40HQ)The minimum and loading plan for your configuration, with availability, on the quotation.
Site accessCompare the assembled size with your route and transport. Ask about towing, lifting and maximum working slope.

Buyer questions

What is the model code?

Turbo shows none for this machine. Quote against the Rear-Tine Tiller entry and a dated specification. [1] [2] [3]

What depth settings do the 41 mm steps give?

Turbo gives the step size and a 203 mm depth but no starting position or list. Ask for the setting table. [2]

Is 190 rpm the engine speed?

No. The catalogue calls it tine speed and gives no engine speed or drive ratio for this machine. [3]

Is 72 kg the machine weight?

It is the gross figure. Ask for net mass and the pack contents. [2]

Does the handle fold for shipping?

The carton is much lower than the machine, but Turbo does not describe the packing. Ask for the packing and assembly instructions. [2]
