Tea processing
Sunyoung 6CEF-40H Cooling and Wind-Selection Module
The 6CEF-40H is a line stage in Sunyoung's tea plants that does two jobs at once. Leaf passing through an air box meets cool air and cools further, while separate airflow zones blow out yellow leaves and single leaves that would not suit the next secondary-tea process. A feed conveyor, the wind-selection machine, a discharge conveyor and a unit control cabinet make up the module. The brochure gives 1.59 kW electric base power, ≥200 kg/h and a 6877 × 610 × 2670 mm straight-connected envelope. It is a separate item from the stand-alone EF-40 and EF-40G sorters.

Build my procurement briefWhere the 6CEF-40H sits in a tea line
In the air box, according to the brochure, leaf meets cool air and loses more heat while airflow regions separate yellow and single leaves. The module therefore changes the leaf's temperature and also diverts part of the stream away from the secondary-tea process that follows. Sunyoung publishes no trial figures for either job.
Start with the process before it and the leaf that process delivers. Then ask whoever runs the next machine what leaf temperature and leaf quality they can accept. Those two answers tell you whether this stage belongs in your line. Sunyoung describes it as widely suitable and good for quality; your trial shows what it does for your tea. Our tea processing machinery guide by stage shows the full order of machines, withering to drying, around a stage like this.

6CEF-40H module versus the EF-40 / EF-40G sorters
The page for the 6CEF-40H gives its own figures: 1.59 kW base power, at least 200 kg/h and a straight-connected envelope. The stand-alone EF-40 and EF-40G sorters, their dimensions and any yellow-leaf removal percentage are listed elsewhere.
Keep the figures with the machine they belong to. If a quote offers a stand-alone sorter with conveyors added, ask Sunyoung to name that assembly as a package with its own motor loads, outlets and cooling and sorting results. The shared 40 in the names says nothing about those.

Leaf coming in and leaf going on
The ≥200 kg/h rate comes without a leaf description, so it cannot settle line balance or acceptance on its own. Agree these points with Sunyoung and your own team. Our tea processing section lists the machines you might place before and after it.
| Line interface | What to agree |
|---|---|
| Incoming leaf | Tea type, the process before, leaf temperature and moisture, how the leaf lies, and how much feed varies. |
| Leaf you want next | Which leaf the next step needs and how your team tells yellow, single and other unsuitable leaves apart. Single leaves may still be good tea. |
| Leaf blown out | How the separated leaf is collected and judged for reuse, reprocessing or disposal. |
| Receiving machine | Feed height, the leaf condition it accepts, continuity, and stop and restart needs. Confirm the transfer with the next process. |

Published specifications
Read each value with its stated conditions, and ask the manufacturer for any limit not listed here.
| Specification | Published value | Meaning / limit |
|---|---|---|
| Brochure model | 6CEF-40H [1] | From the technical and composition tables on printed page 18. Ask Sunyoung for the current build. |
| What it does | Further cooling in an air box and separation by airflow zones [1] | Cool air meets the leaf, and the zones pull out yellow and single leaves before the next step. |
| Module make-up | Feed conveyor, wind-selection machine, discharge conveyor, unit control cabinet [1] | The offer and layout fix quantities, mounting and wiring. |
| Conveyors listed | 6CS44T-2.0/3.7; 6CS33Z-3.5 [1] | Codes from the composition table. Ask what lengths and how many the quote includes. |
| Energy and base power | Electric; 1.59 kW base power [1] | The brochure base load. Ask for the full installed load. |
| Heat-supply column | Slash entry in composition table [1] | No heat-supply unit is listed for this module. |
| Hourly rate | ≥200 kg/h [1] | Leaf moisture, inlet temperature and separation result behind the figure are not printed. |
| Envelope, straight-connected | 6877 × 610 × 2670 mm [1] | Valid for a straight run. A turned route or service space needs its own layout. |
| Figures not published | Cooling temperature change, air volume, reject/good-leaf loss, outlet count and process settings [1] | Ask Sunyoung for these, or set them in a trial. |
Conveyor route and access around the module
Two conveyor codes and a unit cabinet appear in the composition table, and the envelope is for a straight run. The photograph shows the stage in a line but gives no floor plan, so build the layout with Sunyoung.
Feed and discharge points
Record where the previous outlet and next inlet sit, their heights and direction, and ask for a route drawing. A turn may change the conveyors.
Conveyor choice and count
Ask what the two conveyor codes mean in your assembly and which sizes and quantities are included.
Operating and cleaning access
Get service and cleaning clearances, the containers the outlets take, and safe access to high conveyors. Plan this space beyond the envelope.
Scope of supply
List frames, conveyor drives, cabinet, cabling, mounting, and any site ducting or collection equipment in the offer.

Measuring how much the leaf cools
Air temperature, airflow and fan pressure are not given in the brochure, and no refrigeration or conditioned-air unit is rated. The slash in the heat-supply column means no unit is listed there.
In a trial, take leaf temperatures going in and coming out at agreed intervals. Write down the leaf condition, feed rate and room air at the same time, so the drop means something. Ask Sunyoung which fan arrangement it supplies and whether the cooling you want needs treated air from the site.

Checking each outlet and lot changeover
Sunyoung states the purpose of separation without a reject rate or test method. Count the outlets on the delivered machine and sample every one.
| What to check | Why |
|---|---|
| Leaf going on | Whether unwanted leaf still gets through, and whether the leaf suits the next machine. Agree how samples are taken and graded. |
| Leaf blown out | Whether good leaf is lost with the rejects. Sunyoung prints no recovery figure. |
| Lot changes | Watch the start and end of lots, stops and restarts, and cleaning. Agree how mixed or held-up leaf is handled before the next lot. |
| Higher feed | Repeat checks at the feed rates you plan. The ≥200 kg/h figure is a minimum; cooling and sorting at higher feed need testing. |

Buyer questions
Is 1.59 kW the total power the module draws?
It is listed as base power. Ask Sunyoung for the full load schedule, including any site air treatment. [1]
What share of yellow leaf does the 6CEF-40H remove?
No percentage is printed. Figures for the stand-alone EF-40 and EF-40G belong to those machines, so measure this module on your own leaf. [1]
Does the 6877 mm length hold for an L-shaped layout?
The envelope is for a straight-connected run. A different route, heights and access need a layout from Sunyoung. [1]
Does it use refrigerated air?
The brochure mentions cool air but lists no refrigeration unit. Ask Sunyoung to confirm in writing how the air is supplied and cooled. [1]
Control cabinet, power and line stops
A unit control cabinet is listed. Circuit diagrams, sensors and interlocks are not published, and 1.59 kW is a base figure, so settle these steps before delivery.
Electrical schedule
Ask for supply requirements, motor and cabinet loads and any ancillary load, and size site wiring from that.
Start and stop order
Write down the sequence between feed, wind selection and discharge, and what happens to incoming leaf when the next process stops.
Faults and restart
Agree which stops will be shown safely during commissioning and how leaf left in the machine is cleared.
Handover
Keep the layout, module and drive identity, control documents and the cooling and sorting results for your leaf. Put spare parts and support in the contract.
