Hedi Boron-Steel Plough Wear Parts

Hedi makes plough wear parts in boron steel, formed by hot pressing or forging, then hardened and tempered to 45–50 HRC. The ploughing page presents them as a product family for reversible ploughs, with no part numbers or dimension tables. To buy, start with your plough make, model and revision and the exact component you need. Agree a drawing with Hedi covering mounting holes, thickness and working profile, then approve a sample and a batch hardness report before placing a full order.

Identify the exact part before asking for a price

Hedi's page sits under the heading Ploughing and describes how it makes reversible-plough parts. It does not name a complete implement or one specific replacement component. Settle which part you need before you compare quotes. Our notes on sourcing farm machine components to drawing cover the boron steel and hardness papers worth asking for at this stage.

ItemWhat to send or ask for
Machine and positionPlough make, model and revision and the component you need. Confirm whether the offer is a single wear part or a full assembly.
Drawing and mountingPart reference, mounting-hole positions, countersinks, thickness, working profile and left or right hand.
Existing sampleCheck an old part for wear or bending before copying it. Agree a corrected drawing and approve it.
Order detailsMaterial and process, coating, quantity, marking and whether fasteners are included. Hedi publishes no such schedule.

Published specifications

Read each value with its stated conditions, and ask the manufacturer for any limit not listed here.

SpecificationPublished valueMeaning / limit
Product identityPloughing family; no exact part/model number [1]Catalogue photographs show the family. Order against a dimensioned drawing with a revision number.
Material/process disclosureBoron steel; hot press/forging; hardened and tempered [1]Ask for the alloy grade, material certificate and heat-treatment record for your part.
Hardness statement45–50 HRC [1]Hedi's stated range. Ask where and how hardness is measured, the tolerance and a batch report. Wear life depends on your soil and use.

Hardness, material and field wear

The ploughing page gives 45–50 HRC. Hedi's company introduction quotes a separate 650–700 BHN figure for its carbide and hardfacing technology. That figure belongs to hardfaced parts; the boron-steel plough parts carry the 45–50 HRC range.

Ask for the alloy grade, heat-treatment route and a batch hardness report showing measuring points and acceptance limits. Toughness, mounting strength and service life in your soil are separate questions. To compare wear life, run marked parts side by side in similar soil and record the wear. If you are also pricing another supplier's part, such as the Pacific ZPM1X8 agricultural wear part, ask for the same hardness report so the two compare directly.

Approve the drawing and a sample before the full order

The page gives no hole patterns, tolerances, weights or fit tables. Use it to open the conversation with Hedi, then work through these steps.

  1. Confirm the part

Component, hand, host-machine version and the approved drawing revision.

  2. Inspect a sample

Your fitter checks dimensions and mounting against the approved drawing.

  3. Test the working profile

Agree the field conditions and the wear and work results you will look for.

  4. Approve the batch

File the approved sample and drawing, material and hardness requirements, inspection records, markings and how faults are handled with the order.

Fit statement and supply terms

Hedi's company page names several plough brands its parts fit. The product page has no cross-reference list, and Hedi describes no original-equipment or authorised-supplier status.

Ask Hedi for a written match to your part reference and revision, with any changes from the original spelled out. Get the fasteners and fitting instructions with the quote. Prices, stock, minimum order, lead time and export packing are not published, so request them for your quantity.

Buyer questions

Is this a complete reversible plough?

The page covers plough wear parts and gives no full implement datasheet. Ask Hedi whether the quote is for a wear part, an assembly or a whole plough. [1]

Will 45–50 HRC parts last longer than my current ones?

Hedi publishes the hardness range without a field comparison or batch report. Ask for the material certificate and batch hardness, then compare wear in your own soil. [1]
