HAIDAO H18 SCHT Compact Hedge Trimmers

HAIDAO sells two compact 18 V hedge trimmers in its H18 range: the SCHT-A-402FC2 with a curved blade and the SCHT-402FC2 with a flat blade. Both pages list the same 410 mm blade, 390 mm cutting length, 35 mm tooth spacing, 25 mm cutting diameter and 1500 cutting strokes a minute, and both weigh 2.2 kg with a 4 Ah battery. The blade shape is the only listed difference, so choose by the hedge profile you want. This page compares the two, explains the two-hour no-load figure and lists what to ask HAIDAO about handling, blades and the H18 kit.

Curved or flat blade

The two product pages differ in the curved or flat label and the picture. All number rows are the same. HAIDAO does not claim that the curved version cuts thicker stems or works faster, or that the flat blade fits the curved tool. Compact trimmers from other makers in the garden and forestry category give a point of comparison.

Point of comparisonWhat HAIDAO publishes and what to ask
SCHT-A-402FC2, curvedAsk for the blade shape, curvature and the cutting path it is designed for. A photo cannot give you the radius or the hedge profile it produces.
SCHT-402FC2, flatAsk for the blade geometry and the finish it suits. Try it on your hedge if a straight, even face matters.
Same 410 / 390 / 35 / 25 mm figuresNeither version has higher listed capacity. The A suffix marks the curved blade, with no performance gain listed.
Replacement bladesAsk for part numbers and the mounting and service instructions for your version. Equal blade length and a similar body are not enough to swap blades.

Compact size and the hedge finish you want

At 610 mm overall, these are short hand-held trimmers with no pole. HAIDAO lists no telescopic part or working-height figure for them. For tall hedges, look at HAIDAO's RHHT pole trimmer instead; for the SCHT, ask for a demonstration in your working position.

Blade length and cutting length are listed separately at 410 mm and 390 mm. The page does not say the blade adjusts, and gives no finished width per pass. Tooth spacing is 35 mm while the cutting diameter is 25 mm, so not every stem that fits between the teeth will cut cleanly.

The RHS hedge guide stresses plant type, how cut leaves look and checking the shape as you go. HAIDAO gives no comparison of curved and flat blades on large leaves, soft growth or older wood. Describe your hedge and the finish you will accept, then ask HAIDAO to show it with the blade you choose.

One-hand use, run time and noise

Both product titles say the trimmer can be held in one hand. The manual, supported hand positions and handling guidance are not on the pages. Ask HAIDAO for the model manual and its guidance on one-hand and two-hand use before you plan how operators will work. Our garden tools import guide covers the battery-pack and EU, UK and US document side for handheld trimmers.

Both pages list 2 h of no-load running. The H18B4 battery also lists a 2 h charge. One figure is unloaded running and the other is charging, so they do not add up to two hours of trimming or a clean pack rotation. Ask for a run time while cutting your hedge.

The shared 2.2 kg includes a 4 Ah pack. HAIDAO gives no balance comparison between the blades and no vibration figures. It lists 81 dB(A) sound pressure and 92 dB(A) sound power, two different measures with no test method; ask for the report.

Ordering the right version and its spares

Name the curved or flat version in the offer instead of a generic H18 hedge trimmer. Keep HAIDAO's answers on blade geometry and run time with the order. If thicker branches also need cutting, the H18 RHBS-402FC2 pole saw comes from the same H18 range.

  1. Version and blade

SCHT-A or SCHT code, blade drawing or part number and a sample cut. Confirm the plants and stem sizes it suits, staying within the 25 mm figure.

  2. H18 power parts

H18B4 pack at 0.6 kg, 18 V and 4.0 Ah, and the H18FC charger. Confirm counts, the approved pairing and a charger label and manual matching your local mains, since 402FC2 alone does not spell out the kit.

  3. Packing and shipping

Both versions use a 620 × 100 × 160 mm carton. Ask for the blade cover and accessories included, packing method and gross weight.

  4. Blade care and support

Inspection and maintenance steps, spare blades and mounting parts, and the seller's service route. HAIDAO's repair policy covers mainland China only, so agree overseas repair and freight.

Buyer questions

Does the curved version cut thicker branches?

No. Both pages list the same 25 mm cutting diameter and the same other cutting figures. [1] [2]

Will it trim for two hours?

The 2 h tool figure is no-load running, and the separate 2 h battery figure is charging time. Ask HAIDAO for a run time while cutting. [1] [2]

Can I fit the flat blade to the curved trimmer?

HAIDAO publishes no blade swap chart or assembly drawing. Ask for the part numbers and fitting instructions before ordering spares. [1] [2] [3] [4]

Is one-hand use fine for every job?

The titles describe one-hand holding. Ask HAIDAO for the manual and its handling guidance for your work. [1] [2]
