Zebang Two-Wheel Trailer Underframe

Zebang's two-wheel trailer catalogue shows underframes with two main wheels, a drawbar and a hand-cranked jack with caster. One photograph shows a rectangular frame with crossmembers; another shows a central-spine frame with a jointed drawbar. Zebang publishes no model number, dimensions or payload for these trailers. For a farm-site job, send the body you want to mount, your towing vehicle and the cargo, and ask Zebang for a drawing and full load and brake specification of the build it offers.

Two underframe layouts in the photographs

Zebang calls both entries a “two-wheel trailer”. The photographs show two different frames, and neither page gives a code or a rating to tell them apart.

What the photograph showsWhat to ask Zebang
Rectangular frame with crossmembersSeveral crossmembers and an A-shaped drawbar area. Ask for the body-support and fastening drawing with dimensions, since the photo has no scale.
Central spine with jointed drawbarA single central member and visible joints in the drawbar. Ask what the joints are for, how they lock and how far they move.
Two main wheels and jack casterBoth photos show a support caster with a hand crank. Ask for its support rating and handling limits.
No cargo bodyNeither photo shows a deck, hopper, tailgate or unloading system. List the complete assembly you need as its own line item.

Mounting a body on the frame

The rectangular frame looks ready for a body, but the photo gives no fixing points, steel thickness or support loads. Send Zebang a drawing of the body you plan to fit, how the cargo is spread and how you load and unload it. Ask for a design that shows how those loads travel into the frame, axle and tow connection.

On a farm, a loose-crop bin, a pallet deck and a fixed equipment platform each load the frame differently. These are examples for your enquiry; Zebang does not list them as options. Ask Zebang to name the body and mounting it will supply, and weld only to points shown on its fabrication drawing.

Tow eye, pin and drawbar as one connection

The photographs show eye-style tow ends without dimensions. The central-spine frame also has a different drawbar from the rectangular one, so settle the connection step by step.

  1. Your towing vehicle

Name the tow machine and its coupling: dimensions, height and the arrangement its maker permits. Check pin or ball size against the eye drawing.

  2. The trailer drawbar

Ask for the eye and pin drawing, the connection hardware and the allowed articulation, and for the locked and moving positions of any joints.

  3. Clearance in use

Check the body, drawbar and wheels through the turns and slopes you expect, using Zebang's approved layout and a demonstration.

  4. Parts on the order

Put the confirmed coupling and drawbar part numbers and the full build drawing on the offer and the acceptance record.

Ask for a full rating package

The catalogue pages give no payload, unladen mass, axle rating or operating speed. Wheel size and crossmember count in a photo cannot stand in for them. Keep cargo mass separate from the finished trailer's mass, and ask how Zebang defines the rated configuration.

For the build you choose, get the frame, axle, hub and tyre ratings, the coupling and drawbar limits and the load distribution in one package. The trailer's payload is set by its weakest part. The jack and caster need their own rated capacity and instructions. Ask Zebang in writing for the safe load, speed and any loading or ballast limits.

Buyer questions

Do these trailers have model numbers?

The catalogue pages use a general product name with no model number. Ask Zebang for a build reference on your quote. [1] [2]

Does the photo show a complete cargo body?

No. It shows the underframe, main wheels, drawbar and jack. Order the body you need as a separate item. [5]

Is the jointed drawbar for tipping?

Zebang does not explain the joint on the page. Ask what it does and how it locks. [4]

What load can the trailer carry?

Zebang publishes no dimensions or payload for this family. Ask for the rating documents of the complete build you order. [1] [2]

Brakes and road use

Zebang lists overrun-brake and air-brake products in their own catalogue categories. The two-wheel photographs show no brake control diagram or actuation method, and no stopping test. Ask which braking and parking equipment comes on your trailer and check it against your towing vehicle.

If the trailer will go on public roads, request its operating limits, documents and any approval needed where you work. Zebang's workplace inspection reports deal with worker exposure in the workshop; axle load, braking and road eligibility need product documents.

Wheel, hub and jack parts

Zebang sells parts by category. For these trailers, ask for the tyre, hub and bearing specifications that go with your build. Hubs, jacks and similar running gear are grouped in our parts and attachments section.

Part of the trailerRecord to request
Main wheels and hubsTyre size and load rating, wheel bolt pattern, hub, bearing and seal part numbers, and approved replacements. Ask whether the tyre suits off-road work.
Jack and casterPart number, support capacity, fixing method, and operating and storage instructions.
Frame and jointsBody-mounting and drawbar-joint drawings, fastener and locking part numbers, and inspection points.
Complete kitPacking and parts list and current lead time. The 2022 catalogue photo shows the family; ask whether the build is in stock.

Checking the delivered underframe

Because the family has no model number, the agreed drawings and parts list become the order identity. Our guide to sourcing farm machine components to drawing explains how first-article checks tie a delivery back to those drawings. Inspect against them.

  1. Drawing and dimensions

Measure overall, wheel, body-mount and coupling dimensions against the approved drawing.

  2. Parts and documents

Check hubs, tyres, tow connection, jack and any brakes against the agreed parts list and rating package.

  3. Complete assembly

Check the body mounting and the towing and braking functions with Zebang's written procedure for that build, and record what you find.

  4. Handover

Collect the operating limits, assembly and maintenance instructions and the parts support terms for the trailer.
